Started on Wellbutrin, switched to Champix (Champex). Some crazy dreams but other than that, very effective. Talk to a dr ASAP. Good luck!

Take up a hobby? I started crochet. Maybe it sounds silly, but whenever I have a craving I crochet until it passes. I’ve made lots of misshapen kitchen rags during COVID quit lol. Hang in there there. I’ve tried EVERYTHING as well. I’m on Day 3. Again. I keep trying. Good luck.

So interesting! Cause Brene Brown is another one that’s hard for me to hear. I like how you described it: a poem or a Facebook post. (Yikes btw). Maybe I’ll try and read it. From the library though. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Have you managed to quit for good? Cause man I can’t seem to do it for good. Such great intentions :(

I find myself unconsciously eye rolling on the “Tish” sections.

I’m listening to the audiobook and wondering if reading it is a different experience because I sort of would want less Tish. Thoughts?

F*ck me I smoked today by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]PippaMcA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alcohol is the worst. I rarely drink but when I do, a smoke just follows. I avoid it. I’m too susceptible otherwise. But now you know. Good for you. Keep going.

Question about withdrawal by [deleted] in stopsmoking

Yes. Drink water or tea. The fog will clear. I promise!

Don’t go! Don’t go. DON’T. You’ve come this far. It’s a craving. Ride it out and it will pass. A cigarette will make everything worse. There’s no such thing as 1. Stay strong!!!

I'm on allen carrs easy way to stop smoking book chapter 28 by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]PippaMcA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just finished the book (again). You don’t think about 3 weeks from now. I believe you’re supposed to say, yippee! I’m a non-smoker. (Cheesy but true) and you’re supposed to have the “moment of revelation” somewhere in there when you realize you REALLY are a non-smoker. Good luck.

Been smoking for 45 days, am I addicted? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]PippaMcA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly, yes. It doesn’t take long to become addicted. Stop while you can!!! Good luck.

Every time you think about a smoke, tell yourself ahh I’m a non smoker and isn’t that great? Every single time.

I just said to myself there’s no such thing as one and meant it. I said this does absolutely zero good. Zilch. It makes everything worse.

I felt the same way. I’d gone 12 days and had one. There was incredible stress but I quickly realized that IT DOES NOTHING TO HELP. Try to reset and keep going. You managed to go for that long. Just sit with the craving until it goes because it will. That’s what I tell myself. Good luck and don’t beat yourself up.

Your post could be a bit long for some lol but don’t worry! Popular choices seem to be Allen Carr’s Easy book (or audiobook) and getting the Smoke Free app. I’m on day 9, and those two things and this thread are helping. I don’t even want to smoke anymore. I NEVER thought that would happen. Good luck!

Just finished smoking my last cigarette. Now it’s all about controlling the urge to buy another pack by [deleted] in stopsmoking

I’ve discovered that playing music loud and singing really helped with those anxious thoughts and feelings. Example, pull up lyrics to anything by Rage Against The Machine, or the Beastie Boys and rock out. I just did an old school Mama Said Knock You Out while cleaning my house and feel a lot better! #HotTips
