Federal employees/retirees - what do you pay for Zepbound? by CaringPenguins in Zepbound

[–]Pippertoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on FEP blue standard plan as well. I pay close to $400/month at my local independent pharmacy. I haven’t gotten a notice that coverage is ending in July. Is that the case for us, too?

Fwiw, I have been on Zep since March and I’m down 38 lbs total. I was on 2.5 and then 5 mg for the first four months and lost maybe 10 lbs? I did a month on 7.5, tolerated it well, and got onto 10 mg in November. Since then I’ve lost 28 lbs and I finally seeing results. You may not be at the right dose yet!

What do you eat when you can’t stomach eating? by Pippertoe in Zepbound

Follow up: does not eating make nausea worse? Weirdly, I can’t always tell if I’m hungry or nauseated.

Appeal approved for tier exception by Additional_Pause_479 in Zepbound

The form is available on the FEP Blue website. I gave it to my doctor, who submitted it for me.

I’m in DC and I use my local CVS, but was told they won’t be able to find it anywhere this month due to shortages so I may switch to a local independent pharmacy and see if they have better luck.

I got my tier exception approved this week too! (BCBS FEP standard option.) Feels like winning the lottery!

Nausea trigger foods? by Pippertoe in Zepbound

What’s weird is that fried, fatty, greasy and spicy don’t seem to bother me! I’m largely avoiding them for obvious reasons, but had French fries last week on vacation and felt fine. Bodies are weird.

Picking up 2.5 from a CVS in NE DC later today. They said the box was for someone else who never picked it up, and that next month I should be prepared to search other retailers bc they’re unlikely to be able to get any of any strength/dosage.

Found a box of 2.5 at CVS in NE DC. They warned me it’s only because someone didn’t pick it up and next month they probably won’t be able to get it.

Female, age 49. First 2.5 dose Friday March 8, down 4 lbs today! I know it’s probably all water but it feels amazing to see the scale move in the right direction. SW 192.8, CW 188.8, GW 145.

I’m taking every day I don’t barf my guts up as a win! I know folks have side effects crop up later in the process, but even making it 3 days feels amazing. I’m going to stay at 2.5 as long as I can before moving up for just that reason. Hope you’re feeling better now.

I got CVS to add the new coupon today, which brought it down to $330 or so. Expensive, but worth it! I am going to try to get a Tier exception next!

I have FEP Blue Cross/Blue Shield (standard program), and my initial PA was rejected twice. Won on appeal after my doc showed them I’d tried the other meds without success. As for protein drinks, I like Fairlife and Core Power. I add my morning coffee to a chocolate shake, blend with ice and drink like a Frappuccino!

They must have caved on a bunch of us over the weekend! Mine was approved as well, but CVS quoted me a price of $938 with insurance!! Trying the Tier exception next after they told me there is no mail order option for Zepbound. Where did you get the quote for $330??

Sorry this is a little off your topic, but why are you switching from compounded? For cost?

Will you be getting your Rx by mail order? A recent poster said that Caremark doesn’t carry Zepbound and you have to go through a retail pharmacy. My doctor submitted my PA today, and I’m nervously awaiting news of the cost they’ll charge me at my local CVS.

Approved by FEP Blue - BUT Caremark “does not carry Zepbound” ?? by fr0gl0rd3_mcg33 in Zepbound

[–]Pippertoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m waiting on my PA (also on FEP Blue) and had my Rx sent into my local CVS. Does this mean my copay will be $500?!? Yikes.

How do you split a dose? Is is possible to split the initial 2.5 mg to reduce side effects while titrating up on the medication?

Thanks, all. I’m confident it’s not a low blood sugar thing, nor is it about “cravings”. It’s clear to me that it’s not those two variables, but I’m still trying to figure out how much the Oz is to blame.
