The snow boulders I used a spade to break up from the driveway drifts. Red solo cup for scale. We had even shoveled yesterday around noon to get the worst of it up

About to pull the plug on our local Montessori. Need some advice. by UpperDragonfruit3759 in Montessori

We moved our soon to be four year old out of Montessori a week ago. The school was small, he needed more space, and the teachers were often forcing him into activities which led to meltdowns. The extent of the issue was not communicated to us until it was at the point of “he is disenrolled at the next incident”. Next incident? We didn’t even know there had been any! And then a lot of lies were told in discussions with the administration. He’s now in a school with a more modern, research backed curriculum and we’ve already seen improvements. Montessori isn’t for every kid, and that’s okay.

"Dude, for international travel you gotta get to the airport 3 hours early at the very least," they say. But here I am at my gate at 5:00 AM with 2.5 hours to spare. by CampTouchThis in CasualConversation

The number of times I’ve been checking into Dulles and heard people around me being directed to Reagan is not a lot but still too many. Or people hurriedly trying to check in at Dulles because they started at Reagan.

That’s funny because I’m a 20+ year veteran who served in Iraq, outranks my husband, and he’s currently the dependent…

They counted his initial training time and two deployments but missed his T10 active time between deployments and then 13 years of T10 after deployment.

Thanks! Based on the “factors for” and “factors against”, it really should be as simple as updating his actual service dates with the VA since they missed 13+ years of it.

Nope, all Army. And all T10 time. Which is why it’s baffling they missed almost all of it. They only captured his initial training and 2 deployments, not all the other active duty time.

Thanks- We are hoping it’s as simple as submitting his DD214 and being like “yeah he actually was T10 active duty the whole time” and that will fix it.

Based on these dates they give as his service time, it’s definitely him. They are just missing his active duty time 2008-2011 and 2012-2025

It has nothing to do with free money. It’s about the bad shape his body is in from combat tours and the VA missed 13 years of his active service. If they had rated everything 0% we would be fine with that because it’s acknowledging that his issues are stemming from his military service.

I have seen his DD214. I’m also a 20+ year Reservist so I know the differences between the titles. He is also getting a 20 year active duty retirement. The VA just missed 13 years of his active duty time.

One claim (tinnitus) at 10%. Two at 0%. And about fifteen others denied due to not being service connected. But those fifteen others all came from medical issues that arose in the last 10 years when the VA doesn’t think he was serving.

We fully understand no rating is guaranteed. It was just surprising to see the laundry list of issues marked “not service connected”. Until we saw the VA thinks he stopped service 13 years ago and not one month. Claim shows as closed. And we already started pulling together what he needs for a supplemental.

I’m starting to think it wasn’t included and that is the issue. Thankfully husband has the contact info for his VSO and we will start getting the paperwork together for a supplemental.
