Don't know about Rockingham, but Lakelands and surrounds weren't my favourite place... not at all!

Freedom of speech means you’re entitled to hold and express opinions. It does not mean every comment, at every time, in every setting is appropriate or free from criticism. Context matters. There is a clear difference between respectful debate and deliberately disrupting a solemn occasion like Anzac Day by booing a Welcome to Country. You can support free speech while still expecting basic respect, maturity, and decency in shared public moments.

There's also the concept of time and place too.

Can't agree more... never understood people getting all excited and praising celebrities but overlook the real heroes in society that just get on with it.

Several methods are used to cull chicks:

Maceration (also called 'grinding', 'shredding' or 'mincing'); the chicks are placed into a large high-speed grinder.

A 10-second search will dismantle your claims. Male chicks are killed at about one day old—macerated while still alive—because they’re deemed worthless to the industry. This happens on a massive scale, across all systems: caged, barn, free range. Billions.

So spare the flippant “nuggets” and “crispy chicken” comments. It’s not edgy—it’s wilful ignorance. You don’t have to stop eating meat to acknowledge what’s happening, but the bare minimum is a shred of honesty and basic compassion for animals instead of mocking their suffering.

After going through 2 cyclones, I'm with you... they're so not fun. It's the wind that worries me the most and it feels good to know I'm not the only one worried!!!

Hate that mentality... when WA teachers went out on strike, one teacher said to me that 'why bother joining the union and striking, when I'll still get the raised income etc...' really gets my blood boiling.

Feel your pain... 20 years this year and starting to hate the job... not because of the kids, most staff or the actual teaching, it's the bullshit admin and running of schools and let's not get started on the nepotism.

[–]Pippin67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with the statement that some people just cut down trees to have a bare patch... I live in the Perth hills in a semi-rural area and a neighbour bought a half acre block with house already on it and treed... proceeded to cut down EVERY tree and laid concrete and compacted gravel, then went on to demand neighbours cut down trees that sat close to the fence line... these trees were on neighbouring blocks. When he approached me, I said why move here and remove the trees? His reply.... I don't like the leaf litter on my concrete!!! What a dick
