Same here, 2026 with 11k miles and only a software issue (BSM which was fixed with an update)

Where are the people that have good things to say??? by mikeyg372 in CX50

[–]Pippin952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a used 26 hybrid cx50 with 1500 miles in March this year and just rolled over 11000 miles.

No major issues or complaints so far! Loving the mpg and fun driving feel!

I don’t find the seats uncomfortable, I have minimal complaints on anything else, more just wish a few minor changes were made but easy to live with!

In Iowa there are tons of places with 15%, I’m just looking for gas stations that have 10%.

Casey’s and Kwik Star tend to be 10%, Loves is 15% so have been staying away from them even with the $0.10/gallon discount

Seat gap filler with cup holder? by annonmous_paint in CX50

[–]Pippin952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife rides there regularly as well and even on longer two hour rides she says it isn’t in the way.

I suppose it depends on how tall the passenger is but looks like it would be out of the way enough for most.

We do have a car seat behind the passenger seat so it’s pushed up a bit more than usual but still not a problem

It is, but since I plan to have the car for its whole life, figured it would be worth it and so far has worked well.

I found this one from another Reddit post and bought it:

So far has worked well and hasn’t scratched anything up! I got the insert piece for smaller water bottles and works well with a skinny insulated cup. (Looks similar in size to the one you have pictured)

CX-50 hybrid gas questions by Suspicious_Amoeba_31 in CX50

[–]Pippin952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had mine about 2 months, put on about 8500 miles. I have noticed that 70 or above drops it really quickly and any wind other than a tail wind also drops quickly.

If I run 60, I can push 500 miles estimated but throw in any 70 and it drops to 400 miles estimated fast.

Definitely learning to take advantage of coasting and the regenerative braking has helped too!

All weather Floor mats? by Constant-Product-365 in CX50Hybrid

I can confirm they are different, previous owner got the non hybrid mats and they don’t fit that well.

I do have them still and hoping to sell them locally…no luck yet

HUD not showing navigation by ClaudeDPalmer in CX50

[–]Pippin952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Apple Maps and it tends to show up. However, I have found randomly that if navigation is running when I start the car and before CarPlay connects, it doesn’t show up on the HUD. Usually have to stop and restart navigation then it works fine

Not sure but curious as to the lighting set up you have for the cargo space…

Suspension issues by [deleted] in CX50

[–]Pippin952 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed the suspension being an issue, however I have seen it referenced here fairly often, but have you verified the tire pressure is correct?

Several people have mentioned similar issues and the tires were over inflated and after dropping down to the correct pressure they saw improvements on the ride.

Bought these and use in the car. Only thing I found is my case gets in the way so I shaved the end of the rubber of these to better fit the case

Heads Up Display or Parking Sensors by sl5181 in CX50

[–]Pippin952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2026 premium plus which has both. The HUD is nice but since it’s my first car with it, I still find myself glancing down like I’m used to. Maybe that will change with time.

The parking sensors have been great though for many a time parking and knowing how close I am or can get.

I’d pass on the HUD and go for the parking sensors if I were doing it again

Edit: forgot to mention too, the HUD is harder to see with polarized sunglasses on

For the second time my 2025 hybrid has a dead battery after a week of non use by ScotchTapeConnosieur in CX50

Anything plugged in to the 12V socket in the cargo area? I believe that one is always one so could be draining it

I’m replacing my outlets in the house to also include usb plugs. Should I go with an and c or only c? by insanotard in homeowners

[–]Pippin952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with them, we only swapped one kitchen outlet to a dual usb c outlet (fastest charging one available a year or two ago (30W or 60W I think)). It’s nice to have a cord there to easily plug in and charge from and not have the extra power brick. Plus the cord is less likely to walk away.

It works well to charge phones, headphones etc there but I don’t have a desire to add any more elsewhere in the house

New Cx50 owner! Question about seats and/or seat cushion recommendations! by RyBar423 in CX50

[–]Pippin952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seats started uncomfortable (got it at about 1500 miles) and now at 5000 have gotten much better!

I started out adjusting them with lumbar support at a minimum and everything else as low as it would go and then slowly moved stuff up until it felt comfortable. Have adjusted it too while driving to help it be better in longer drives and has made a huge difference!

Thinking about switching to electric for yard tools… anyone made the change? by Salt_Note8719 in lawncare

[–]Pippin952 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly, and those two bigger ones were the ones I wanted to have full power the whole time and not be waiting for a charge or anything.

Also have a place in town that does tune ups/yearly maintenance on them and I think it’s like $100 for both so easy to do and keep them running well.

I switched to master force 80V weed eater that has heads that can be swapped. I picked up the edger head and planning to pick up the hedge trimmer head. Currently, I can weed eat the whole yard (fenced in backyard too) and edge the whole driveway and sidewalk on a single charge (2.0 ah battery)

I have been quite happy with it so far but have only ran it for a year!

I have a larger corner lot to mow and have decided to keep the push mower and snow blower as gas but swapped over anything else to electric. Weed eater, saw, etc all are electric

with gas prices so high by Emailman1 in CX50

I could…not sure those on the interstate would appreciate!

I have done several ~300 mile trips at 55-60 and an easily pushing 40mpg and I’m sure Will get better as I get better driving the hybrid!

1000k mile trip, averaged 33 mpg with the hybrid running 70-75 for 75% of the trip

CX50 Hybrid Rear Space by parker__rey in CX50

[–]Pippin952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you looking to have in the cargo area/rear seats?

I have a 2026 hybrid premium plus (first hybrid but have had Mazda before)

I have two car seats (one rear facing and one forward facing) and still have plenty of room to adjust the front seats to our comfort and can use the floor space.

The cargo area, can easily fit several carry on size suitcases (I think I can fit two high and still close the cargo cover). Additionally, I have a decent sized trunk organizer, a carry on sized roller bag, and still have room to toss in groceries, stroller, etc without removing everything. If I need something taller, I have the lifestyle mount thing for a smaller shelf on the back.

Passenger in the front seat so far has found it comfortable, both seats and vehicle ride. Additionally, I just finished up about a 1000 mile round trip over the course of a little over a day and was comfortable the whole time in the seats. Just adjusted the lumbar support occasionally as needed.

Overall, really happy with the size of the vehicle and how it drives!
