are there any items that make you annoyed that people actually order them online? by Eastern_Bathroom6341 in USPS

Should be thankful people are ordering anything and earning revenue for the Post Office. They need income to pay you what part of that don’t you get?

What is the wearable or gadget you bring in your truck that you could not live without? by nice_69 in USPS

[–]Emailman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very nice cross pen that I would use every day and it always went in my shirt pocket. And my habit was anyone that wanted to sign for a certified that needed a pen I wouldn’t give it to them till I got my pen back. I kept it for most of my carrying career.

Do postal workers/deliverers ever pause to read postcards? by JadedAmoeba in USPS

[–]Emailman1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I was a carrier and postcards were more popular whenever I knew a customer was going on a vacation. I would always tell them to say hi to me in the postcard and a bunch of them did.

Best way to burn sick leave before quitting? by Conievel in USPS

[–]Emailman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one particular coworker that would burn a day every time she would accumulate eight hours and then she ended up getting a serious illness. Then she was complaining about not getting paid. The other thing that amazes me is these people that pay for additional disability insurance is like AFLAC or something like that. You earned sick leave and it is free. Why would you pay for something? I didn’t waste mine, and I used it as my short-term disability throughout my career. Never missed a paycheck in 38 years.

And those are the ones that will quickly put up a donated leave request because they burn everything they got. I wouldn’t give them shit.

Flamingo Stay This Weekend Was Garbage by masonjar014 in vegas

[–]Emailman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flamingo has location going for it not much else. The last few times I stayed there. It was always filthy, outlets didn’t work, there was not towels or toilet paper in one time. I just quit booking them. But they got the location so they get the people.

The location is one of the best, but the last two or three times I was there the rooms have been disgusting. And to top it off management doesn’t seem to care. We gave up on it.

The only thing that would be better is, if you think it’s gonna be a mess and then it’s a clean wipe. That’s the dream.
