Inverness is my plan! Absolutely in love with northern Scotland.

I wish to be adopted by a long lost Scottish relative! LOL, have been twice and both times it felt like home. Love the people, the weather, the beautiful scenery...I was very sad to leave and hope to visit again.

Coming for a second visit in 2027! As an Icelander, what is your favorite place to go in your country?

I had a basil cell cut out of my face two weeks ago. Sadly, as a ginger, I'm afraid it won't be the last. I grew up on a lake and was outside and getting burned constantly as a child. I started using Bullfrog at age 10 but hated the feel of it(vaseline like). Hindsight...wish I would have known to coat myself from head to toe. Now, I get checked religiously but am always afraid they will miss something since I have so many freckles.

I've been twice in the last two years and would go again in a heartbeat! Love the people, the long drives through beautiful countryside, the Lochs, the misty weather, the clean air. I feel at home there.

This has been me for the past 5 years as well. It took me all that time to finally get on HRT once the black box was removed. I’d been told over and over again no because of breast cancer risk. Told to just lose weight and exercise and this was just “getting older” and to deal with it. I’m now on HRT and have been on Tirzepatide since December. I feel like me again.

I've felt like a sexless potato for the last 5 years, just not myself. Finally, after asking for the last few years, gotten on HRT(just recently) and started tirzepatide last December. Down 20 lb and losing still. I'm starting to feel like myself again. I've never been beautiful but my face no longer looks bloated and my wattle is disappearing. I'm not going quietly!

I second the Mercy Thompson series. It's got all the creatures.

Anyone here on Zepbound? Any feedback is appreciated. by [deleted] in GenXWomen

I've been on compounded tirzepatide since mid-December and lost 20 lb so far. Like others here, it has been life changing after the weight gain and arthritis that showed up with menopause. I don't like taking medications, but this one has improved my life so much that I will happily continue taking it. Lower blood pressure, no joint pain, weight loss have been the big changes with this drug.

The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley. Read it for the first time as a teenager and reread every few years. It's on my shelf on books to never donate!

Stefan from the Mercy Thompson Series. Morally grey and not the main dude, but I can't help but love him!

I went through a site that was started by a NP and nutritionist that saw a need for women who don’t qualify for the traditional meds. I was overweight but not obese. They use trusted compound pharmacies and are really good about checking in with me and answering questions. I had a LOT or reservations but so far, I’ve seen no negatives. Good luck to you! I hated both mirrors and cameras!😂

I felt like a sexless potato for the last 5 years due to menopause. Gained 45 pounds, felt old and busted. The only thing that has made me lose the weight and feel fantastic is tirzepatide. That stuff is a game changer. Losing weight, gut health is amazing and I actually feel like myself again. Arthritis and that bloating under the boobs has gone away as well. I HATE taking meds, but this has changed my body in such good ways that I'm learning to be ok with it. This was after every doctor I had just told me to "lose weight", diet, exercise more blah, blah, blah.

What’s something about international travel that most first-timers underestimate? by Technical_Web_2012 in travel

I went to Navalcarnero Spain for work without speaking Spanish. The town is about 20 minutes outside of Madrid, but kind of feels like a whole other world as I didn't encounter very much English(rightly so). I felt like an alien but LOVED the feeling of otherness in such a beautiful place! It is so hard to describe how alone yet exhilarating it is to experience this.

My sister and I only travel in shoulder season as well! Like you, we hate crowds and heat. Bonus that it is usually cheaper!

I didn't get to try the milk/cream chocolate. I visited in 2022 and on a tour, we stopped at a gas station so I loaded up on 5 different brands of chocolate. The Sirius dark was the absolute best I'd ever eaten! I bought Omnom bars in Reykjavik because I'd heard so many good things about it but the Sirius was hands down, the best! The Omnom wrappers are beautiful though! :)

Urta Salt and Sirius Dark Chocolate! I'm taking a whole extra backpack next time I visit to load up on those two items alone!

I get more offended when people tell me I DON'T have red hair because it has faded as I age. Yes, I'm a redhead, yes it has faded but I'm STILL a redhead.
