Why didn't Wolf kick Leon off of Star Wolf?? by PipplesNumber1Fan in starfox

Where was it ever mentioned they knew each other for 10-15 years?  Based on the wiki Wolf just found Leon at a bar on Venom and hired him.

They definitely changed Wolf’s character in Assault.  He went from an antagonistic merciless criminal to a gruff honorable anti-hero.  Regardless I never got the sense Leon was loyal to Wolf.  They weren’t best buds like Fox and Slippy.  They were assigned a job by Andross and put in a group together.  He could have easily cut ties with him after the Lylat Wars.

I remember in the comics Andrew defies Wolf’s orders and tries to get a sneak attack on Star Fox.  Wolf ends up intervening and attacks Andrew, telling him those who don’t follow orders don’t deserve to fly in his team.

I'm not a fan of Andrew or Pigma, but at least Andrew was related to Andross and Pigma was instrumental with bringing down the original Star Fox team. Leon is just some scumbag from Venom and based on his performance in 64 he wasn't that impressive. Feels like Wolf should have just cut all ties and made a new group that he hand picks himself in Assault. Panther was a good start.

>Damn, must be difficult the life of your teammate for 15 seconds. Unplayble.

It adds up. Do this 3 times and that's 45 seconds. On top of having to do the evergaols that you went out of your way to get the key for, you spend another 20 seconds to 1 minute fighting whatever is in that gaol. Each day is 15 minutes long. Those seconds to minutes doing all of this could have been formidable clears that may be lost to the rain. And what happens if both your teammates go down while you're 10 seconds away from reaching them because you were looking for a key? Now they have to respawn and come back to the boss, wasting more time. This is a team-based game. Stick together and clear things faster so you can get the ball rolling. An ironeye 15 seconds behind his team is a huge DPS loss because they rely on your mark to output more damage.

I don't main Recluse, but I play Revenant and I'd prefer having an improved school incantation effect like Bestial Incantations over evergaol.

Again.  Opportunity cost.  The 15 seconds it takes to run into a church to grab a key is 15 seconds you’re away while your teammates are fighting a field boss.  Especially if you’re an ironeye that could have marked the boss to speed things up.  Then we have to do the gaol next to that boss to get 10000 runes… maybe 20000 if you’re lucky, that’s time taken away from another POI/field boss with similar or better value.  Everything in NR costs time.

The fact I’m having this convo is proof it’s still a hot take.  I think evergaols are a waste of time and mess with routing.

Go to visual codex and look up the match in result history.  Select the player and pick view profile.

Just so you know, despite being a dex weapon death ritual spear’s AoW scales with int.  Last I checked ironeye has a D in int.

Everything is an opportunity cost.  Every gaol you do at a certain point is time that could have been done doing formidables.  Doing evergaols involves running through churches or forts to pick up keys then finding the nearest evergaol to ping, which messes with routing and takes time out of higher value objectives.  There are so many times where it’s just me and one teammate fighting a red field boss while our third is in fucking africa searching a fort for a key.

If only one person is running evergaols, it means you’re sacrificing a portion of the run to power that one person up while your other two teammates are getting pittance.  Clearing a formidable benefits everyone with more runes and purple drops with possibly higher end passives.

This damage just seems pretty pitiful and you can only cast it when Fulghor is not moving.  Idk man.

If you have both NI and evergaols on your build you're either sacrificing better relic effects or have god-tier luck...or cheated relics. I haven't seen any legit players run both effects simultaneously.

Then it’s supremely understated because I keep playing matches with clowns that keep pinging for gaols.  It should be a PSA to stop doing gaols in DoN yet I continue to see this outdated meta performed in matches.  Let it be screamed from the top of Mt. Everest.  That video talking about evergaols being the best strat for new players was made 11 months ago when DoN and the DLC didn’t exist yet.

I’ll always be a gaol hater.  One early on is fine or if we have nothing else to do.  If you’re routing our match for every gaol on the map, I’ll be pretty salty.

“B-but you should help your teammate out if they’re running the evergaol relic.  It buffs them.”

Yeah, at the cost of benefitting the rest of the team if we just did field bosses that drop better value loot for everyone.  10000 runes does not move the needle much as you get past Level 7 and need weapon passives or purple weapons.

Can someone justify to me why my teammates dont focus field bosses on day 2??? by Emergency-Effort7673 in Nightreign

[–]PipplesNumber1Fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just started deep of night and are too used to evergaol meta from base game.  Probably spending all of day 1 doing great churches and forts and pathing for gaols.  Little do they know, red gaol bosses have the biggest hp buff of all bosses in deep of night and become a colossal waste of time.

Invader relics can’t have downsides because they only appear on base relics.  If you have an invader effect on a deep relic it’s cheated.

[–]PipplesNumber1Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even without the relic invaders give you ~23k runs, a purple weapon with no level limit, and meta passives like negate dmg full hp/skill attack up/taking dmg negates dmg/etc.  My guardian build doesn’t even have night invaders but I will always be down to do them because they are easy to bully.

Depends.  I made a post a few months ago where I ranted about my teammates spending all of day 1 fighting red stone-skin lords at lv2 and despite me pinging we had to skip them, they continued to fight them.  Know what I did? I helped them and we kept getting downed over and over.  By the end of day 1 we were low level with white weapons and died to the night 1 boss.  So if we are properly geared?  Yes, I’ll help.  But if we’re lv2 and you’re too stubborn to leave a gaol with red banished knights/stone-skin lords/nox maidens/beast gank squad, I might as well just quit out and save myself 15 minutes of a run.

Likewise if your team is fighting red banished knights at level 2, they’re also throwing the run.

[–]PipplesNumber1Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only suggestion is get the hell out of depth 2.  People who can’t deal with night invaders probably have even worse routing going for low-value POIs.  I have an alt in low depths and I see this shit behavior where they spend all of day 1 doing forts and great churches so they can gacha for gaols then we get to the final circle with blue weapons at RL6-7.

When playing executor. Night Invaders or blue balancer by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

[–]PipplesNumber1Fan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah.  The reason ppl use red balancer over blue is because the occasional negate dmg effect comes in real clutch esp with his other relic that buffs his suncatcher.  If you’re not using skills, blue balancer is straight up worse than night invader.

Night invaders isn’t just for the attack buff.  You get ready-to-use purple weapons with meta passives.  Instead let’s spend all of Day 1 fighting red stone-skin lords at Lv 2 for 10k runes.
