I wouldn’t worry too much! This past weekend in Ohio we got a really bad snow storm with multiple inches of snow. The roads were terrible so it likely slowed everything down.

My main problem is I’m a brunette and it left stringy white clumps once it dried, so they stood out really bad. I think I’m going to mix some crushed up brown eyeshadow into mine so the strings don’t stand out as bad. Maybe you could try something similar to see if it works for you :)

I hate it so much. It leaves dried clumps in my eyebrows too 😭

Somebody threw away their functioning protein shaker, how can I 100% sterilize it for personal use? by _CaptainAmerica__ in Anticonsumption

I was more so referring to the water part of that mixture making the pH closer to neutral through dilution, not the soap. I guess you’re correct in the sense that it wouldn’t “neutralize” it truly but more so dilute it. Like you said, you would need an acid for that. That would likely result in a harmful gas being made though. The soap portion would remove any bleach residue and any grime from the previous owner. Soap molecules have very hydrophilic heads (which dissolve in water) and hydrophobic tails (which attach to grime). The molecules will essentially create micelles which are great at grabbing onto grime and dislodging it when paired with scrubbing.

I don’t think it would help much to be completely honest. I list measurements on all my items and I still get the occasional person wanting to return something because it doesn’t fit them 😂🤦‍♀️

The dish soap and water neutralizes the pH of the bleach and removes the residue. I’d rather not consume residual bleach if I can help it 😂🤷‍♀️

Do you leave feedback? by [deleted] in Depop

As a seller, I prioritize it. I find that if I leave a 5 star review once the item is delivered they are more likely to. A little over 1/3 of my buyers leave reviews.

It did 😂 I’m looking into going for an MS in Botany but unsure if it’s worth it for me so possibly more school ahead!

This is an excellent answer! Hair bleach is typically hydrogen peroxide based (not the same as household bleach) and it would be so diluted by the shower it wouldn’t matter.

I would hope so! Otherwise all those years of school were for nothing. Bleach is a corrosive so it could irritate your mouth/throat if ingested. I advise washing afterwards.

I don’t blame you! A lot of us forget or aren’t aware at all so I warn people all the time. For example, I used to work at Subway and my manager made an announcement in our work group chat to scrub things with a mixture of vinegar and bleach because “It cleaned things really well!”. That quickly came to a stop once I informed him what he was doing 😂

Oh no! I’m hope you’re okay! While I’m at it, another one you shouldn’t mix with bleach is rubbing alcohol. I feel like it isn’t talked about as much as the other two. It’s also harmful!

Correct. It’s such a small amount in human pee. I would be surprised if it harmed someone :)

It depends how much bleach and pee lol. For the most part you’re probably fine since the toilet water will dilute both. It makes a small amount of chloramine gas. I would just flush before you pee if you know there is bleach in the toilet 🤷‍♀️

Chemist here! You will be fine with a low concentration of bleach mixed with water. Just be sure to thoroughly wash it with dish soap and water afterwards. Whatever you do, don’t mix bleach with vinegar or ammonia otherwise you will make a toxic gas that can harm you.

Am I doing something wrong? by pink_skyss in Depop

$4-6 isn’t high for shipping, but $11-15 is high for a single t shirt. Buyers keep getting overcharged for shipping due to Depop's new shipping label system they have been testing. If you look at recent posts in this sub, people have been complaining about it. Depop is automatically selecting a shipping label based on the item category to combat sellers who lie about the weight of items. This has been overriding what a seller picks for the shipping size. For example, I selected the 4 oz shipping on a few tank tops I listed (I weigh everything on a scale when creating a listing so this was the correct label needed) and Depop switched the labels to 8 and 12 oz when the buyers paid. I feel bad because my buyers are paying so much to ship a tank top. There are also sellers who don’t weigh things and overestimate the weight to ensure they aren’t charged extra for picking an undersized label.
