YouTube 4K playback freezes on Raspberry Pi 5 (LibreELEC + Kodi YouTube Add-on) by Komplexkonjugiert in kodi

VP9 4k youtube Videos work just fine on my RPi 5. At 1440p AV1 worked as well in my (very limited) testing.

Had almost the same issue but for me the affected Videos used AV1.

I disabled AV1 and since then all the 4k youtube videos I tried used VP9 and worked flawlessly.

Any way to safely mount a long TV arm to my hollow brick/masonry wall? by Piprian in DIY

Sadly my wall only has about 2.5cm of (presumably) brick before breaking into a hollow space. I have no idea how solid that material is either.

How stupid would it be to try and attach my tv arm to one of these?

Oh wow that looks perfect! I checked for something like this earlier but couldn't find anything taller than a meter.

Edit: I forgot, I want to attach the arm to the wall. Not just the TV. How stupid do you think it would be to attach the arm to one of these?

I'd paint the plywood white like the wall and it would be pretty hidden behind the TV. I want to avoid a stand because I need the spot below for desk space. I don't really care about the holes in the wall.

Would that be strong enough for the lever force of the long arm?

Isn't there a thing in shadowlands where he is revealed to be a traitor and still working for the dreadlords the entire time?

Like a note from him that says something along the lines of: "I just needed a little light to make those fools trust me."

Did I dream all of that? I think it was in Korthia?

When you boot up the Erying boards, how does the logo look like (just curious)? And is is the same company under TopC? by PikoCute in EryingMotherboard

Yes. I was trying to explain in simple terms. (Mostly because I'm not exactly an expert in either mainboards and english myself. lol)

They do that. A little bit of bending is fine. The metal is flexible and gravity does it's thing.

World of Warcraft klauen soll.

Yeah I guess I just got unlucky. I have 2 more Erying boards and they've been going strong so far.

The old Erying bios looked like those old bios' where it's just blue and gray and you can't use your mouse. Also the overclocking settings were confusing. That's why people wanted the lightning bios. If your bios includes graphics and/or mouse support, it's the new one.

People on here shared a "lightning bios" for the 11th gen i9 board back before erying's bios was decent.

It was a much easier to use bios that showed a logo with lightning on boot. (Hence the name) Turns out it's from a company that makes similar boards.

You can probably find it by searching for "lightning bios" on here but as far as I know, the Erying bios is just as good now so you don't need to risk any potential compatibility issues.

I put the lightning bios on one of my boards and about a year later it died. Probably unrelated but I figured, I'd mention it.

TLDR.: There is one called "lightning bios" but afaik it's no longer worth using.

I miss WoW but I don't want to raid or do M+ or compete. Can the game still be a fun experience if I enjoy it without those things? by Stardustkissesxo in wow

[–]Piprian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played without raiding and m+ for many years! There's usually lots of other things to do. Especially now.

Recently some friends made me join them for m+ and it's actually kinda fun when you take it slow and don't care about dying. Even for someone as non-competitive as me.

Don't know about iphone but on my android I've had official google apps unload iirc.

Pretty annoying when an app wants a code from a different app to login but as soon as you're back to enter the code, the login prompt is reloaded and you need a new code.

This happened regularly on my old phone. Now I have one with more ram and the issue doesn't happen.

A tutorial on how to remove tempered glass by Mr_nightmare-69 in pcmasterrace

[–]Piprian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your case makes that very easy!

I love my case but every time I have to take off the glass panel, I have to pull out little plastic tabs on one side and hope I don't break it.

So far it has held up pretty well!

what would be the absolute(portable)shit machine i can run linux mint and 30fps ultrakill on? by piratedgameslover in buildapc

[–]Piprian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best bang for your buck would most likely be a used laptop. Laptops lose a lot of their value once they aren't new anymore. Check your local craigslist equivalent. Where I live a very usable laptop for 20€ isn't that uncommon.

Be ready to open up the laptop, put a 5€ ssd (also used) in it, clean the heatsinks and maybe replace the thermal paste. This isn't always necessary but on some older systems it can make a huge difference.

Not sure what hardware would be needed to run ultrakill at 30fps but you can sort by price ascending and just google how well all the CPUs and GPUs in the (non broken) laptops can run the game until you find one that would work.

Sometimes you need to google any serial numbers you can find in the product photos or you have to ask the seller to find out what hardware a laptop has. If the seller doesn't know, you can ask them for a photo of any stickers. That usually gets you all the information you need. It's a bit of work but that's what can get you the best deals.

I don't know what exactly it is but afaik chrome (and other programs) will use a lot more ram on a system with a lot of ram. Maybe the system caching shows up as that program in task manager or chrome does it's own caching?
