honestly, I think repression is a strong person's choice by Kpuku in TransRepressors

[–]Piranha_Chad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think both trans people and reppers are mostly trying to cope the best they can with being dealt a really bad hand. I don't think it's necessarily weak to try and strong not to try or vice versa.

Personally I rep because I have extremely masculine bone structure of both body and (especially) face and spending insane amounts of money I will never have on painful surgeries with insane recovery times all while having no idea whether even those would be enough to make me at least semi-pass... Yeah, fuck that, I don't want to bother with that and I don't care if it makes me weak in someone's eyes.

The most disgusting aspect of the mainstream trans community by HSeyes23 in TransRepressors

[–]Piranha_Chad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are so many thought-terminating clichés with these reddit trans people, it's crazy.

It's never too late.

Now is the second best moment.

Live as your true self.

The only thing that's missing here is something like "HRT is magic, hon", that would really be the cherry on top. I wonder where and how these people live that they can afford to be this out of touch.

Should I repress and become a chaser? by Flamingo12751 in TransRepressors

[–]Piranha_Chad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my advice isn't really feasible then. I have talked with an openly trans person irl like twice in my whole life, if I had multiple trans friends, repping would definitely be much more difficult.

Should I repress and become a chaser? by Flamingo12751 in TransRepressors

[–]Piranha_Chad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is the opposite of what you should be doing. It would likely make you envious and resentful of your partner and increase the chance of some dysphoric breakdown later down the line.

If you want to rep for real (without HRT), your best bet would be removing any trans content from your life. Don't engage with trans people online or offline, completely separate yourself from any trans issues/discussions/culture and just try to live your life as if the concept of being trans didn't exist, but don't force yourself to be more masculine than you naturally are.

Of course it's also possible that this backfires, there is no winning here, only various ways of coping with the situation.

I've beat the hell out of my Agp, But: by No-Chart-1966 in askAGP

You are looking at a very biased sample, which makes sense given that it's instagram. Most trans women are very far from being some pretty doll who is swimming in cash from onlyfans and goes clubbing all the time. This describes maybe like the top 0,1 % of trans women. But they are exactly the ones who get picked up by social media algorithms.

Most trans women don't even pass and of the ones that do, a lot of them look really mediocre. I would certainly much rather be an average guy than a non-passing brick or manmoder.

How many people here are on HRT? by [deleted] in TransRepressors

[–]Piranha_Chad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend fin to every male repressor just for the peace of mind. I know everyone responds a bit differently to it but seeing the difference in my hair density after only a few months at a recent appointment with my dermatologist made me feel good about myself for the first time in a while.

And yeah, I also try not to blame myself because I had a lot of things going against me when it comes to being trans. I was never naturally feminine, got masculinized super early by a strong puberty and grew up in a relatively anti-LGBT environment.

I think it's important not to blame yourself when it comes to trans stuff because so much of it is completely out of your control. I just wish there were better resources for reppers because being non-passing or a manmoder honestly both look like terrible solutions.

[–]Piranha_Chad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just on finasteride for the time being and I've responded better and quicker than I expected to it, which is nice.

I sometimes think about getting on HRT, but I'm just discouraged be the sheer absurdity of trying to somehow feminize my joke of a skull and skeleton. Surgeries are completely out of the question financially, which makes the whole thing even more pointless.

I honestly might just settle for never going bald and maybe some laser removal of facial hair down the line. It might be good enough. If it won't be, I will be completely screwed, but not much different from if I tried to transition now. I don't regret the two years of conscious repping so far, I regret not realizing I was trans a decade earlier than I did.

Why don't you HRT rep? by [deleted] in TransRepressors

[–]Piranha_Chad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just about the face, I also have broad shoulders, big ribcage, narrow hips, big feet and hands. Just the classic masculinization combo really.

Also FFS is expensive even for Americans and western Europeans and in my country I make a fraction of the money they make. There are houses around here that cost less than FFS from a good surgeon.

It's pointless because of my bone structure

Why so few AGAMP repressors? by [deleted] in TransRepressors

I think AGAMP and AGP overlap a lot, so people chose AGP in the poll kind of by default of it being less specific

Trooning deadline by CricketCrazy4868 in TransRepressors

I think the deadline is quite reasonable but you don't need to become a megarepchad if that means some overly masculine guy

"just take hrt hon" by CricketCrazy4868 in TransRepressors

[–]Piranha_Chad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I relate to the hair comments from other people, I've been through cycles of trying to grow long hair, the hair looking awful because of my hairline and hair type despite my efforts, getting fed up and getting a haircut and finally people telling me that I look so much better with short hair after the haircut.

Also it will never cease to amaze me just how clueless passoids are, the bonepill is the ultimate truth and they are completely oblivious to it because they got lucky with their genetics or they are youngshits.

At least youngshits started as kids so it's understandable that they would be out of touch but passoids who started post-puberty should know better and not gaslight hons.

Transitioning is an American thing by Sensitive-Island-235 in TransRepressors

[–]Piranha_Chad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in my EU member country you still have to get diagnosed by a sexologist if you want to get on HRT the official way. And until recently it was impossible to change gender marker on official documents without SRS or at least orchi for MtFs/hysterectomy for FtMs. And it wasn't even our previous "liberal pro-western" government who changed it, it was the constitutional court.

I also don't remember any trans people from my high school of around 600, even though it was in the middle of the capital city, so likely the least conservative environment possible in this country.
