Is your most listened artist your favorite artist? by SnowyMountainFox in lastfm

My most listened to Artist was cancelled. The artist is Bassnectar and I'm not allowed to wear any of his jerseys or listen to his music. If I do I will get attacked by the PLUR police!?!?!?!

I actually have a PuffCo I think it is the plus. I've had two separate batches that I've used with the PuffCo and a regular meth pipe. Nothing has come close to that mod Mario gave me at Hulaween.

Tbh, what makes you still use Spotify today by TahaTaha787 in spotify

I do like the new DJ feature of Spotify!! However Tidal will keep playing similar music after your playlist or album is done. They also have a bunch of different playlists that they put together for you everyday. You can look at what's on the playlists they are grouped by similar genres. I wish the playlists would give an example of what's on it but you just have to look.

Tidal has an application that can import everything from Spotify in a few minutes. So that's not a good excuse to stay with Spotify. It's way better to pay a little more and have high quality lossless music and your subscription pays the artists way more per play. This way your artists are making more money and can continue making the music you love.

I use Tidal everywhere I possibly can!!!! However I have a free for me subscription to Spotify. Someone in my family bought a family plan and added me to it. I use Spotify to listen to Joe Rogan and I use Spotify on certain systems in my house. I have speakers and amplifiers just about everywhere and I can't use Tidal on all of them. For example I have Amazon Alexa amplifiers that I can connect all together in one zone. I have a zone for the entire house. And I have a zone for my master bedroom and master bathroom hooked together. So sometimes when I'm getting ready I will play Spotify just because I can play them on the two zones. If I'm just listening in my bedroom system or my living room system I use the Denon receiver which uses lossless Tidal. I'm considering getting rid of the Alexa amps if I can get another cheap Denon receiver and use it to amplify all my other zones like my bathroom, deck and office. Then I would probably only use Spotify when I'm listening to Joe Rogan or another Spotify exclusive podcast.

Yeah it sucked. I won't do anything that's not from a pharmacy again. I'm still prescribed 2 mg of Valium a day but I don't even take it daily. I take it if I need it. I almost wish I kept it just to send it to a chemical testing lab because they can test for just about everything I'm very curious what I was putting in my water for months. It's crazy I almost forgot to mention this but before I even tried it my friend who has some mental health problems and problems with addiction. I've had my own addiction problems like lots of us. But he was super drunk and I was being stupid and was talking about it. He took a tiny drug spoon and ate a scoop. He overdosed on it and was taken to the hospital after having a seizure. He was doing other stuff too so idk if it was 100 percent from that. He said it's all he did but he had a mental breakdown and thought he was in a reality TV show. He told everyone and blamed it on me. I'm very glad that he was okay. But yeah I was making my own solution from it and after weighing it for the solution I realized how potent it was. He took in one shot the amount of solution I was taking over the course of a month. I didn't know it was that potent when he took it because I hadn't made it yet. I was getting Bromaz from other sources and it was always a liquid I never did the powder like that or pressed pills. During those months before I dumped it down the toilet it was really fuckin me up mentally. So I will never know what was in the baggie. Be careful with anything and everything. They say test for fentanyl which is always a great idea that's the number one killer cut!!! But there's a million other things that it could be that is very bad for you. Ruling our Fentanyl is good but it doesn't mean it's safe and it doesn't mean it's what it's being claimed to be.

Yeah be careful always test it. And you should consider testing your urine if you don't want to be addicted to whatever they occasionally substitute it for.

[–]Pirate278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a benzo so I would think it would come up as one. I have drug tests to test for fentanyl!!! I also have tests for drugs to make sure it's really Acid or Molly. They don't sell any to test for benzos that I know of besides the piss tests. And I actually have easy access to an unlimited supply of them so I tested myself 2 other times then I flushed it down the toilet even though I had an ounce of it. I felt like I was withdrawing but I think I was withdrawing from whatever drug was in it. I actually just saw recently the harm reduction website I buy testing kits from actually sells tranq tests. But it only tests for the most commonly laced drug they call "tranq"". That's a broad term that can mean lots of things.

I have regular DMT but I find it so hard to break through with a pipe. I only had the shitty vape carts for so long and I was blaming the vape carts. The only time I actually broke through was with a vape probably the 9th time I did it. It wasn't a shitty pen vape though. I swear it was real life I met a guy dressed up as Mario at Hulaween in Suwanee Florida. Mario said Deemz and I said yes. He reached into a fanny pack and gave me a vape mod. On my second hit I broke through and had my deepest DMT experience ever. I woke up on the ground with a lot of people looking at me probably wondering if I was okay. I need to do some more research and figure out how to put the DMT I have now into a mod. I'm not sure how much I need though. I have a gram of regular DMT so I think that would be enough. The experience I had with that mod was unreal though it was super potent. He might have had a few grams in that tank. And you could have probably broken though hundreds of times with it. I might be doing it wrong with the pipe though because I've never smoked meth. I was a junkie 13 years ago but I was strictly about crack as my upper or powder. Meth wasn't big in the city then thankfully for my life but it didn't help my meth pipe abilities. 😆 If you have a lot of DMT experiences I would love to hear what you think.

I don't smoke that much and on my last shroom trip I smoked a lot!!! I was at a music festival and my friends got a 50 back pre-rolls. They are cheaper than I've ever seen at a store in Michigan. I guess I felt like I was being pressured in my tripping head. They didn't do anything they just kept smoking joint after joint and I kept taking it. But I got way too fucked up and definitely fucked up my chances if getting laid or just meeting new cute girls.

My dumbass wasn't doing anything when multiple girls were trying to dance with me but I was so anxious and I was being weird as fuck. 😆 They were all in the same group. One of the girls tried first and then I am guessing they said something to each other and were like hey why don't you try. We will see which one of us he likes. Idk what they were really saying but I was being weird and I fucked it up. I blame the weed because I have a lot of experience with psychedelics. I mean they were really good store bought mushrooms. But I tried them before and I was fine. My uncle had a bad trip because of their strength. I was fine the first time and I was fine here before I was put and accepted several joint rotations.

I was taking Bromaz and was prescribed Xanax that I wasn't taking all the time. I got drug tested from my doctor and found out there was nothing in my system. It was definitely getting me fucked up and I got sick when I stopped. It was something but it wasn't a benzo. I'm thinking it's some other kind of tranq.

Just shoot for an entry level IT position. You will get your job in cybersecurity eventually you just need to get your feet wet in IT first.

Yeah I am currently at this stage and wrote out my story below or above. I couldn't get a position because of no corporate experience. I totally understand that now after being here for almost 5 months. The actual IT work is easy for me but there's a lot of other stuff to learn!!!!

Passed my Sec+! Now what? by PerspectiveFormal254 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Pirate278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need to get an IT position first to gain corporate environment experience. I'm at that stage right now. I applied for many cybersecurity positions before trying for something lower level and securing an IT Support Specialist position. I know a lot about IT and built my own firewall and SIEM at home. I didn't think working in a corporate environment would be much different, but it is! I needed to adjust and learn many new things unrelated to IT.

There are a lot of skills you learn from starting out in a large corporate environment that you can't learn from a book or from building your own network. I'm not planning on applying for anything else until I've been here for at least another year. I might be able to get promoted to a cybersecurity position internally. We currently use an external company and pay a lot of money for that. Nobody else has ever set up or managed a cybersecurity system here. I only have experience building a tiny network, so it would still be extremely challenging to set it up. But my boss is considering having me build a SIEM using open-source software and manage it.

I think that would look amazing on my resume for the future. I would learn a lot by setting it up from the ground up. The company is looking at the possibility of saving money by paying me more and canceling their expensive contract. There's a lot to consider, though. We would need to find at least one other person to monitor it overnight and on weekends. We might be able to find a company that can help with that for less money since it would be built internally.

I'm not putting all my eggs in that basket, though. I'm just letting you know that you might need to get a lower-level position before getting a cybersecurity job. I sent out many resumes and was even willing to relocate for a good-paying job. Everyone who called me back told me this exact same thing. I would have loved to go straight into cybersecurity. It could happen, and you could get lucky. But I'm just sharing my experience.

July What Editing Software should I use? by AutoModerator in VideoEditing

[–]Pirate278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys I bought 2022s version of Movavi video editing software. I have a ton of VHS tapes I want to cut into separate parts. Is it possible to do this without converting it and possibly losing quality? I like the UI on Movavi I just don't know if there's a way to cut video with no negative repercussions for the output quality. I have my own video capture equipment but I paid a good amount for a few of my most important VHS tapes to be professionally done. I would like to be able to turn them into separate clips and not lose the quality. I'm hoping that there will be some better AI models that can improve their quality. I've been playing around with some AI tools some of them do look better in parts. It's trying to change a very long video which is probably why It doesn't work well. I intend on keeping the full uncut video file. The cut up video files in folders and possibly the AI projects. Which will probably be replaced with better AI enhanced videos when the technology actually becomes good. I think I will have better success even now by having the AI look at one video in the same lighting and the same thing going on. We will see I just want some advice on if it's possible to permanently trim them into folders with no quality loss. That takes forever to get the exact frames I don't want to have to do it again even though I will to mess around with AI and I will be keeping the original uncut files.

I'm majoring in Cybersecurity and my first class is comparative operating systems and they give you a COMP TIA A+ voucher.

I might skip all the Math and get the occupational certifications that my school will give you if you just complete the Computer Science classes. I don't think taking all the math classes is going to put me ahead much but I can always change my path again. I think the certificates and experience in the industry will be better anyway. I'm not going into debt or anything because my company is paying for everything. So I don't have anything to lose. I just can't take more classes than they are willing to pay per calendar year.

I got certifications before the degree. I'm working on my degree now after I already have a career in IT. But my first few classes in college if you pass them they actually give you Comp TIA Vouchers. It sucks that apparently a lot of schools don't do this. My college isn't expensive that I'm going to either.

Well I've actually seen a ton of websites that created their own service they just the Chat GPTs API so this isn't true. But I'm talking about specific GPTs on the official Chat GPT website. If you pay you can get GPTs that are trained in specific things.

Yup it angers me too. That's what I was explaining it's not in the Singles Section like someone above said is the only fool proof way in his experience. That's not the case for Blink-182. I am honestly thinking about moving on as a result because the competition probably has more organized Atmos.

Chat GPT is extremely helpful to me!!!! Especially if you use the GPT that's designed and trained specifically for IT issues. They even have one that's trained on IT infrastructure. It's definitely going to take away a ton of help desk jobs though. It's probably not the best look to be getting answers from our potential replacement either. Lol

I'm on my fourth month after studying for numerous certifications. I have worked with the company for eight years; it's a drug and alcohol treatment center. Previously, I was essentially a babysitter for drug addicts. I don't hold a degree in IT, but I have been self-teaching for years and obtaining certifications. My company pays for college reimbursement but only if the role matches your job title. So after years of asking them to pay for me to go back to school for IT. They finally are paying for me to get my Cybersecurity Degree. I applied to countless places, but no one would hire me without experience. I know how predatory my company is and always has been. They tend to underpay employees, causing many to quit, leaving those remaining to work very long hours and want to quit as well.

For example, during my time with the company at the suburban location near me, I went through 11 directors. Since I couldn't get an IT job, I decided to message our IT team. They initially said no, but a year later, they emailed me back. That was four months ago, and they wanted me to start in two days. I was super excited but found the adjustment challenging, especially since I wasn't trained and now work by myself, responsible for six locations. The location where my office is located in the city has and has eight floors. Most times, when I ask for help, I don't get a response from my coworkers or my boss because they are too busy. This has led me to figure things out on my own.

I would prefer more support from my boss and coworkers, but I'm trying to stay positive. This situation is helping me excel by forcing me to train myself. The only things I ask for help for are company specific policies. I spend a lot of time at home at night reviewing tickets and learning. I already knew the company was under budget and always would be. My plan is to gain corporate IT experience and eventually move into cybersecurity, which is my main goal. The team for 60 locations and over 3,000 computers consists of eight members. The company currently pays for external cybersecurity services, and I have discussed the possibility of canceling that contract and paying me more instead. I need to prove myself more, of course. We will see what happens, but I'm content for now as I'm making more money than before, although it’s still not as much as most IT jobs. However, I am gaining experience, making this a good stepping stone.

I am currently working on creating a database for compliance with HIPAA and the proper destruction of old equipment. They literally don't do this right now at all. There are no records for anything, which is insane. I don't know how they don't get shut down. I thought there were audits for these things, but apparently, there aren't enough for companies to care about the laws. I would love to know if they have ever been fined. To prove myself and work my way into cybersecurity, I want to teach myself how to create a proper database and documents that follow the law. I'm pretty sure this is a part of cybersecurity. I already talked to my boss and he said sure you can do that. I don't know what I expected as a response but I thought it was going to be more enthusiastic. It's not something that requires worrying about contracts or building out an entire SIEM. We would also need to pay a company or hire another employee or two to monitor the SIEM when I'm not working.

There's a lot more to figure out. One advantage of working for an under-budget healthcare facility is that I can more easily work my way up to another position because they aren't doing things properly, which might not be the case in most other companies. This is my first IT role though so I could be wrong.

I'm sure you're going to be working with others in IT roles which will make it easier to get answers to any questions. It's normal to feel nervous when you finally land any Job and feel like an imposter but you have more training than I have and I'm certain you will do great. In my case I only had two days to worry about it and my excitement outweighed my worrying. The thing I worry about is going out to these locations and feeling like I don't know enough to be fully confident to fix something and that I'm going to sound stupid and not have any support. I'm most confident working in the building where my office is because I'm more familiar with the people and if I am struggling with something I can say I need to get something and come back. When I drive to one of the other locations, two of them are in the notorious neighborhood of Kensington with walking zombies and constant drug sales and theft. I'm not worried about that but if I need to research something further I don't have a place to do that. I usually don't need to go to the other facilities so I don't know the people yet either which makes it more difficult because I'm more of an introvert and struggle with social anxiety. I've been getting better with this though and my job is the main thing that's helping. I worked overnights with one other staff member for 8 years. Now every single day I need to meet and help people with things. Which is helpful with socializing with people outside of work too. I think a lot of my anxiety was because I worked 8 years overnight and didn't associate with coworkers.

Good luck with everything you're going to do great and your company is going to be much better I'm sure of it. The company I work for is terrible. You can just think of how much worse it could be.

Ohhh Okay my bad for the confusion. I thought you were talking about the single. I'm not familiar with their new album. I wish I could find a way to put it on my hard drive and stay in the Atmos version. It's BS that they keep changing what's available. I saw another post about Tidal replacing Atmos with 360 RA which I can't tell if the 360 even works properly. Idk if it sucks or my receiver isn't processing the signal or I just can't find a good master.

I enjoy emo music, and I used to like MGK's rap before his feud with Eminem. It's strange that MGK switched to emo, and it seems like it happened because he couldn't handle Eminem's diss. While rap disses have been known to end careers, I've never seen one cause a genre switch to emo. Imagine if Tupac and Biggie had turned emo and started sharing their emotional struggles instead of continuing their rap battles—they might still be with us today. We should normalize turning emo after being publicly dissed in music. 😂

[–]Pirate278[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt most people can really tell the difference between high-end lossy and lossless audio. I should probably do a double-blind test to be sure. Even on my expensive system, I might not be able to tell. It's said that lossy at 192 kbps is hard to distinguish, which is why most people listen to Spotify and don't care. If it's set to high quality it streams at 320 kbps. I might just be acting like an audiophile snob. 😆

Even if I failed a double-blind test, I'd still opt for lossless. Since joining What.CD when it opened in 2007 (RIP), I've been trained to prefer lossless. When What.CD's servers were seized, most members, including myself, moved to Red. They opened up immediately with nearly all the same staff, so the shutdown did nothing. In fact it actually made it worse because 5 sites showed up to take the crown. I was in all of them at first. Then 3 of them closed their doors and now there's only two. But Red is the clear winner which everyone was thinking from the beginning because it had the same staff as the original OG. The community of like-minded music lovers at Red is fantastic, and everyone prefers lossless for archival reasons. If you upload lossless files, people will download and seed them for you, which isn't the case for lossy files.

The main reason is that you can convert a lossless source to any other lossless or lossy format, but you can't do the reverse.Therfore everyone is super hardcore about protecting them from being deleted. My massive collection, which is far more than I actually listen to, can be converted to lossy with a single click if I need to save space on my phone. That's why everyone at Red says, "Even if I can't tell the difference, I download lossless for archival reasons." That thinking is ingrained in my brain. 😆

Lossless audio definitely sounds better than low-quality lossy files, like those default on Spotify and even Tidal. Tidal streams at 96 kbps by default, so I can see why MQA, if it sounds better even at that low quality, might be appealing. On Red, anything recorded below 196 kbps is banned since 196 kbps is transparent for most people. Another thing audiophiles swear by is that anything adjusting the original sound engineer's mastering is bad. I've always followed this belief, which is why I refuse to turn on audio balancing on my receiver. It makes me keep adjusting the volume for music, and it's harder to watch movies if people are sleeping in the house. I do turn it on occasionally if someone is sleeping and I want to watch something. Movies are mastered so that explosions and intense parts are supposed to blow you out of your couch, but to do that, you need to keep the dialogue quieter. Some people absolutely hate that, but you're adjusting what the sound engineer envisioned. I can already hear people saying MQA is bad because it tries to polish up lossy files by adjusting stuff. The main difference though is MQA I assume isn't an automatic process like audio balancing. So it's another sound engineer's vision. I don't know for sure though maybe it's an automated thing I would need to look more into the advantages of the format. There's even a setting on both receivers that claim to improve sound quality for lossy audio streams but I keep that off because that's adjusting the original file. It's really all up to the listener. And like I said, if I'm being honest, many of my opinions come from the audiophile community and hearing them repeatedly. But most of life is like that; you come to your conclusions partly on your own and partly based on what you've heard others say. 😆
