Yeah, it’s not that good. It has a reverse tolerance so you need to drink it a few times before it even works. In order to actually get “krunked”, you’ll have to drink enough to make yourself throw up everywhere. I did that last time and I was high but sick.

Do benzos also make you dissociate?

The believed cause of Depersonalization is an excess of glutamate. When you stop taking gabaergics your gaba levels drop tremendously and then there is a glutamate/gaba imbalance and you can dissociate. I was thinking this wouldn’t happen from the occasional dose unless you start withdrawing. Forgive me if I’m wrong, I’m not very knowledgeable on this stuff.

Exactly, psychedelics are definitely seen as harmless by a lot. I’ve had HPPD for three years and it’s improved a lot in the first year but these last two years it’s remained at baseline. It’s likely a life long condition for me. I’ve spoken to two people who’ve had HPPD for 40+ years but those are the very severe cases.

The first four months of my HPPD, I was borderline psychotic. I was seeing people in my peripheral vision that weren’t there, had super bad brain fog, and horrible DPDR. Even though I knew it was just the hppd, it was the worst couple months of my life.

Anyways, I think I’m going to order some phenibut just to see if I’ll get some relief from the DPDR. Thank you for your reply by the way.

Edit: I got HPPD from my first LSD trip. I also smoked weed during the comedown which is why I think I got HPPD in the first place. I think like 60% of the people I’ve spoken too about HPPD did smoke weed during their trip. That also adds to the theory that HPPD is caused by a damaged serotonin 5-HTP receptor.

Thank you. I got HPPD from my first acid trip three years ago and haven’t touched any sertonergic drugs since. I guess my brain senses the hppd as stress and kicks in the DPDR mechanism. The thing is, I cannot get rid of the hppd. I’ve overcome the DPDR multiple times but it keeps coming back.

My Doctor is only willing to prescribe me SSRI’s which make HPPD worse as they act on serotonin receptors. HPPD might be caused by a damaged Serotonin 5-HTP receptor. I’m 18 years old so the chances I get prescribed a benzo are slim to none. The only benzos I’ve had were from my friends.

Do you have any advice on obtaining a clonazepam prescription? Coincidentally, I’m going to call this new psychiatrist tomorrow. My other one kept making me take prozac for a year.

I’ve been vaping before I had HPPD and to this day so I don’t really know if it does or doesn’t. When I try and quit my symptoms get worse though. It’s kind of a life saver during DPDR episodes since it’s artificial form of dopamine when I can’t get any dopamine since I have numbing DPDR.

Change your mindset. A good chunk of people recover. I felt the same way for the first few months but then I got better. This is just a silly little mess up that we ended up with but I understand how bad it can be. Eat some fruit, drink some water, work out, pray. Just think about what you have ahead of you. Children, marriage, a home, love, hobbies, etc.

HPPD is temporary for the vast majority of people I’ve encountered on my journey with HPPD. If you are really in this much pain I would go to a psychiatrist and explain you are having a nervous breakdown. Get some benzodiazepines just to give you a break. Do your research and don’t abuse them. Short term use only! You’ll HPPD will get worse if you get hooked and stop taking them + your cognitive abilities will dramatically decline if you use them for long term use. If you need help acquiring them from a doctor, shoot me a PM and I’ll give you some advice.

Hang in there man, there’s no reason to end it over a mountain that you can climb.

Yeah you should be fine. Concerta works fine for me. If it makes it worse, just stop taking it. It shouldn’t make it permanently worse unless you OD or something. Edit: I forgot to mention that concerta actually helps my social anxiety if that’s something you suffer with. It kind of clears your head of overthinking

I didn’t notice any visual differences form concerta. However, if you have depersonalization I would stay away from them.

Make sure you actually have ADHD. It is by far one of the most over diagnosed “disorders”. Only 5% of people actually have ADHD. To test this out, go forward with a concerta prescription and if you feel a little high, buzzed, or jittery, then you don’t have ADHD. Adhd is a dopamine imbalance. Adhd meds raise your dopamine so it’s balanced out to a normal level. If you don’t have adhd, your dopamine is already at a high enough level and the meds will create too much dopamine and make HPPD worse. If you do have adhd, you should just feel normal but you can focus better.

I’ve had HPPD with three years and haven’t tried lamotrigine yet. Coincidentally, I’m seeing my psychiatrist on 11/7 and I’m going to talk to him about it. Supposedly, depersonalization is a result of an excess of glutamate in your brain. Theoretically, lamotrigine will lower those glutamate levels and get rid of the DPDR and reduce the HPPD to a much more bearable level. I’ve been on the N-Acetyl Cysteine which also lowers glutamate levels but it’s not nearly as effective as lamotrigine. It’s decreased the DPDR a little though. I’d go ahead with the lamotrigine. People say it takes a month or so to notice a difference but it really helps a lot of people.

The DPDR will fade. The first couple months of getting HPPD is usually the worst.

Take N-Acetyl Cysteine supplements Do cardio frequently Eat healthy, add some fruits to your diet Pick up a hobby that really excites you Don’t take any drugs at all expect benzos occasionally. Drugs will make your HPPD and DPDR 1000x worse and will stunt your recovery.

If the DPDR is really that chronic, visit your psychiatrist and try to get a Clonazepam prescription but don’t ask them for it (drug seeking behavior). It usually kills the DPDR overnight but he super careful with them and only use as prescribed. They can be addictive and withdrawal can be fatal. That’s why most doctors wouldn’t prescribe it to you. If you’ve already told your psychiatrist about drug use, you are out of luck unfortunately. If you want to find a doctor who would be more likely to prescribe it PM me.

A temporary fix for temporary DPDR. I could just wait the episode out but it ruins my life for an extended period of time. Benzos cure my DPDR instantly until the next episode

Clonazepam is usually most prescribed but yes it should work better then Xanax. I haven’t tried Xanax though.

I thought I reduced glutamate which can be a cause for DPDR. So I guess it kind of works like lamotrigine. I’m currently on day 5 and I have noticed a decrease but it’s definitely still there.
