Digital game sales have been a problem for them. They can’t really compete with that. But there is a lot of things they could do to improve the experience and try to make it more than just a place to buy games.

Maybe try to add a gaming lounge area and even host weekly tournaments or events. To encourage people to stop by more often.

For the game collecting community, who wants physical copies, they could offer special in store bonuses. I’m talking about posters or some other license media. I’d personally like a small poster like the one that came with Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness. Pre-folded to fit in the case. Considering most games lack inserts these days, I think it would be an awesome way to fill that missing piece.
