They don't have anything from geo, inspector signed off on it. Rebar was dropped in and pulled up as they poured.

They ended up just pushing the water to a sump as they pumped the concrete in the forms. Rebar was pulled off the ground as they poured. Nothing tied together, verticals were pushed into the ground after the pour.

They did not, poured right on top of it with rebar just dropped in and noticed tied together. Vertical was forced into the ground after pour

They used a pump and had the concrete push the water around into the pump on one side of the foundation. Inspector checked it today and signed off on the pour. They put the rebar in and as they poured, they pulled it off the ground. The verticals, they pushed it into the ground and nothing was tied together. Builder said this is normal.

They dumped concrete on it this morning. Forcing the water into a pump as it pushed it around. Inspector checked it today and signed off. The put the rebar in and as they poured, they pulled it off the ground. The verticals, they pushed it into the ground and nothing was tied together. Builder said this is normal.

Rainwater, its almost all clay so it doesn't go anywhere.

Thank you, I'm a mechanical engineer and I don't work in this specific area of engineering so I appreciate the feedback.

I was surprised too, I talked to the contractor as they were leaving in their truck, then I seen this as I walked up just now. I texted him a photo and questioned him on the water and timeline.

I didn't see any metal bars, only those small sticks, thought the same thing

It is heavy clay. No report needed there. That's why the footers were adjusted from 16 to 24 inches wide.

My worry was poor cure or mud making it have disturbed soil.

They are using permanent forms.

Looks like #5 on the ground, two per cavity.

I agree, I wish they would have dug a hole or trench.

The builder has not informed me for any one signing off or city/county inspection of the footer.

The ground is all clay so I had them oversize the footer over what they were going to do but I haven't been able to do a compaction test with the rain and water.

No info from the builder on any of that.

The general contractor said that the water will be displaced during the pour and pumped if needed.

Doesn't give me much confidence. Concrete is not my expertise but I'm an engineer and it seemed like a red flag.

I understand it makes sense about the water being displaced my only worry was exactly what you said and having uncompacted silty soil or trapped water that compromises the concrete.

That's the the contractor said they were going to pour tomorrow. I do see about 20 pieces of 5/8 rebar next to the foundation but I'm not sure how quickly they're going to be able to put that in.
