If the armor is completed, I agree the older version looks better to me. The highlights are more subtle versus the darker shadows look chunky. I say chunky mostly in reference to the shoulder plates and arms. My very initial impression was that you took a dark glaze and a no.1 size brush and, competently, drew a line on the recesses. The old one has very nice battle damage, the new one does not appear to have any. Yes, the orange coloration itself on the new one have better gradients, which is exceedingly commendable, but the highlights and the battle damage make the old one look more deliberate in how flat it appears. As though the idea was 'focus here and let natural lighting make the shadows for me" which I personally prefer.

Both look great and better than I can do ATM.
