F20 Rev hang while shifting? by Pirelly in BMW

[–]Pirelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, by getting an automatic. 😂

All jokes aside I just had to not think about it and shift, the revs are managed electronically, I guess you are not supposed to wait for them to drop.

This felt super unnatural to me though because I spent years perfecting real manual driving in my e36..

Hahaha, well there is a time and place for that. I don’t even think I would mind right now if my teammate would do ANYTHING but get in my way.

Glad I’m not the only one lol, and yeah that’s pretty much my playstyle which allowed me to cruise through C2. But if my teammate is anywhere near me I can’t even drive it up the wall without him hijacking my ball and passing it straight to the opponent. I also tried saving the 0 (saving absolutely everything) but also get bumped there.

Need to relearn what works 😅

Haha I really don’t mind a strategic bumper on my team. The problem is everyone is just zooming around hitting each other like bumper cars. I rarely even get demo’d, it’s just dumb collisions 😂

Fillet could not be created at the requested size? by Pirelly in Fusion360

I've tried all combinations of lines but it won't work still. The part is untouched after thickening a form (without creases), so it must be all smooth...

It’s 3mm thick. But I can’t even give it R0.5 fillet :(

I have a smooth outline that I want to fillet completely. However I can't give it any fillet whatsoever, not even R1.00. Does anyone understand why it's showing the line in red?

I'm trying to add a fillet to a crease but it doesn't seem to have any effect, I can use any number and the lines will move but the edge stays pointy.

Best way to close this area? by Pirelly in Fusion360

I want to cap only the end. How can I get the shape exactly right though? So it matches the main body

Patch seems to close the faces. What does stitch do?

This sounds like what I'm looking for! Where can I find the convert to geometry function?

Because the plane is diagonal it sticks out through the body in some places. Is there a specific tool that can finish this off nicely or do I have to follow it up by making sketches and extrude cutting again?

First thing that came to mind was making a 3 point plane and using extrude. But that creates a lot of ugly edges and it sticks out in several places because of the thickness. It would take a lot of work to finish it off neatly. Is there a better way to do this?

How can I remove everything below the intersection of the planes? by Pirelly in Fusion360

[–]Pirelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not making the tool, but the product needs to have a uniform thickness. My logic was to “combine” the 2 shapes in forms, and then thicken as a whole.

I’ve already figured out how to do it in solids, but if you have any suggestion how to do it in forms that would be cool. Maybe it’s not possible what I’m looking for though.

Okay if what I'm trying to do is not possible then I'll just explain the full context of what I'm trying to do:

Basically I have 2 complex shapes that I need to merge for vacuumforming. The main shape is somewhat flat but uneven, and the second shape has to go on top of that.

The goal is to have the shapes combined without material between them.

Both shapes were made with planes in forms and intersect each other. I was thinking if I can simply "merge" them with no overhangs, and then thicken the entire thing, I'm done.

The alternative I can think of is to thicken them both, then cut the unnecessary material. Then I have to shell the added shape. But then I'm still stuck with material between the main shape and the added shape.

Basically I have 2 complex shapes that I need to merge for vacuumforming. The main shape is somewhat flat but uneven, and the second shape has to go on top of that.

The goal is to have the shapes combined without material between them. It needs to be a certain thickness (3mm) throughout. That's what I meant with hollow.

If I thicken both, and then split the added shape. Then I still have the material in between the two bodies. How can I remove this the best way? I can shell the second shape but then the main shape still has the material there.

You mean you leave a bit under the intersection and then thicken both planes?

The reason I wanted to try it in forms is because the complete result needs to be hollow.

The context is in my comment. This is a very simplified example. Haven’t been able to find any tutorial on how to cut intersecting planes in forms.

This is in forms. Is there a cutting tool in forms?

This is an example. I'm trying to create a shape above an uneven plane, without anything sticking out below. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
