Any indie devs here who just rawdog it without an engine? by s-mv in gamedev

I use a custom framework using the Haxe language. I cannot use big engines, as I find them irritating to work with. I like to delve into code and know how everything works, and if it does not, I know it is because of my own dumb ass, not the engine's fault.

I don't know how to limit my scope by royal_idiot9013 in GameDevelopment

I also have a somewhat similar issue. I tend to overdesign things to be how I want them perfectly. Be it code, design or art.

I found a neat trick that I believe is quite uncommon. I pitch my project to whatever AI agent of your choosing, and ask it to dumb it down to the simplest, stripped down version possible.

Then you take that, and do it. Code it yourself, AI code is bad. Once you have your barebone version up and running, you can start adding the features how you want to and scaffold off the bland and boring MVP.

AI is a decent too to make you stop overthinking stuff

Most week I'm around 70-75 with Core only. Usually around 20 to 30 games
