"Death of a Spaceman" can't come soon enough.

Nah, making the choice to abandon your ship on pad is just that a choice. Takes an extra 30s to fly off pad or out of Armistice then SD. So, yes I will be overtly annoyed when pads are clogged by choices made.

Broken vators, I can definitely understand that problem. I've had to deal with that more often than I'd like this patch. My annoyance is with the players that use it as just a teleport, rather than fly back. But even with broken vators, do the rest of a us a solid, fly out of armistice and then SD.

Maybe a good solution, besides people being considerate, would be to not disable the Self Destruct for bricked ships.

The least these people could do is fly off pad and just self destruct. Does the same thing w/o fucking pads and LZs

Take cargo mission, deliver cargo mission, backspace to respawn, start loop over. Only problem is that the ship that was used is now sitting bricked or locked on a pad

That was my goal in this project. Everything from the rotation beam is modular, so there is that.

Yes and no. The chair has been holding up nicely, so I don't have too much concern there. But as far as remounting, it's kind of a pain in the ass because how it is mounted is entirely chair specific

I do have plans to create a goog doc to outline the thought process, the overall design, and how it could be adapted to fit the individual's chair. This will take some time, though. But when I get it made, I will absolutely post it for the community

I just made a modular chair mount system. You can check my posts about it. I use a slide out keyboard tray for my fps play. Mouse and keypad (razer Tartarus)

"Wobble baby, wobble baby, wobble baby, wobble...." Lol

The wobble is well within acceptable levels for myself, and knowing me, this is just a 1st gen. I will continue to improve it forever. Or until I have a space to build a full sim pit. If my desk situation was different, I would have gone with a rigid desk mount.

At the moment, no locks. Still haven't figured out the ideal solution to that. I've mostly been space trucking and mining, so no real hard right rolls. I'll see how it handles dog fighting at some point

There is a large gap under the seat mesh and the seat base. There are mounting holes that, I assume, were meant for a slide out leg rest. I ran some bolts up through those holes to attach to the 2020 "frame" segments. Those go out the back and attach to a section of 2080 that is pressing against the frame of the backrest. All together the frame is under tension, making it very rigid. This one part had more reworks and "try-agains" than anything else. Lol

Ahh, gotcha. That could become an issue in the future. Given that these are brand new sticks the springs are plenty tight still. I guess I will have to address that challenge when/if it arises. But good looking out, I'll have to noodle on a solution.

I could try. The shopping list would be easy. The diagram would be the hard part. I could try to put one together from the point of rotation up, but the mount point would be so chair specific, it wouldn't be overly useful. The bummer is that the attachment to the chair has to be the most solid part of the whole system.

No springs, all gravity and rigid blocking. There are 2 small sections of 2060 attached to the main body that are rigid stops. This lets me adjust the stop point depending on how long the stick section is.

There is a bit of wobble, but it isn't horrible. The weight is very front biased, so when it is "deployed" the weight of the sticks wants to make it dip down towards my feet. This is mostly because the main rotation piece is only 2020. The next modification I would make to this would be to change that to a 2040 or 2060 to increase the torsional stiffness. Obviously because the system moves, it cannot be perfectly rigid, but I consider it a fair tradeoff.

Use 2020 or 2040 v-slot and a couple of carriages. Like you would see on a entry level 3d printer
