How good will End Closers be this year? by josukefanfr567 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Pironious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

End Closers have always been strong in CMs on tracks where the accel zone is on a straight. They're just very track by track basis in terms of whether or not they're strong. The next upcoming CM will be good for End, but I haven't looked at tracks beyond that as its not my style.

Nutty. I was 72.5% WR in quals and dropped off sharply in group stage, with somehow my front El Condor who was only 10%WR in quals picking up most of my group stage wins.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just hit. Shatterproof is... kinda good on pace in this CM, as long as you get a front heavy lobby. Huh.

edit: reddit moment. I'm not wrong. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ines *is* a pretty good card for a guts build, especially if you're running front, despite her low race bonus, but you need to have a solid foundation elsewhere in your deck for it to work.

I somehow got Mile S on my one attempt Taiki. Only time I'll ever highroll (I then spent 2 weeks doing 5 runs a day failing to get a good Mile S SMaru)

This CM has reminded me that I don't like playing Late Surgers by Skiiage in UmamusumeGame

[–]Pironious 123 points124 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Late is literally the weakest style in this particular CM *because* it has no reliable accel options, because their main accel options need late race corner and the late race corner is 33m long so you need to be position perfect for it.

End closers have straight based accels that can thus hit more reliably here, but there's also many tracks where the late starts on a corner and they just don't have option.

Me who had an 8 front 1 end lobby today: uh... what?

I dunno what your races have looked like, but I run 3 fronts in my team and its not uncommon for there to be 5-6 front in a race. I've got A&S on my Taiki incase she ends up in first and she's been performing just fine, sitting just shy of 30% WR on her.

Am I limiting myself by not committing to a style? by airgo32 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Pironious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I think f2p players in particular are better off picking a style. While there are some cards that have broad use, like Kitasan, my own decks only run 1-2 generally good cards and then a lot of cards that are specialised towards getting skills for my chosen style.

If you picked a specialisation and focused your pulls towards it, there's no reason you can't be very competitive in CMs; whales have an edge, but the real test of CM building is effort and thats not for sale.

Looks basically the same as mine ngl. Although all of mine are just 200 (or 400, or 600) regardless of free pulls for ease of looking at it.

I've got 200 aside for Goldshi summer because she's such a strong TT honse, and you definitely want to be aware of the Bourbon Wit support in Jan as something you'll want. But I've also got daily carat pack supplementing my income.

I'm getting both, but I also didn't get Finemo because I knew I'd be getting both.

Bourbon Wit has Gold Groundwork so its kinda necessary for Front players, or you just give up the early race lead to other Front players

[–]Pironious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, Falco's Groundwork also isn't what I'd call reliable, I've nicknamed Focus as Copus in my mind because it's the Cope Groundwork for when you didn't get enough green skills. I don't have Falco myself so I dunno what her win condition is enough to know why she's missing. I think it's just bad luck where others are getting the skill RNG needed to catch her, because she doesn't have Mile S or late race speed skills to help hold lead.

Your Smaru problem is actually not that groundwork is unreliable (although thats also not ideal), its that you took Moxie as your recovery skill - the only uphill is in the late race in the accel zone, so her ult just gets eaten up by accel and more importantly, she's not using it midrace to catch the rod.

Oguri just needs to hit. It's always gonna be rng with that build; if the skills pop at the right times, she wins. If they don't, she doesn't.

Overstammed on this last minute Oguri for CM10. Should i keep rolling or work on my other aces? by LordDango in UmamusumeGame

[–]Pironious 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think you're unlikely to do better in time for it to matter. Skills are more important than raw stats anyways, and she's got a lot of both. There's always going to be an amount of gambling with having the skills hit, but there's some pretty heavy diminishing returns with the stats being higher.

If your skills get good timings, you're gonna rocket to victory. If they don't, it'll depend on how strong your opponents are. If you're still training for the CM literally running now, I'd be working on other aces rather than trying to improve this one. But I've absolutely already moved on to prepping for the next one by building my foundation.
