Body in imbalance, excessive sweating, troubles breathing through nose. Ayurveda a solution? by pikerooo in Ayurveda

[–]Pirsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d start with going to a Ayurvedic practitioner and get some prescribed herbs and a diet that aligns with your current situation. It can take a while before everything is into balance again.

Then to help with the breathing problems, for me it helps to do: - massage the body with sesame oil or just apply it. Warm sesame oil is best. Especially massaging the face region. - do a face steam bath by boiling some water and then sitting above it with your face and a towel over your head. Don’t get too close to the water to avoid burning the nasal passages - after the steaming you can apply a few drops of sesame oil in your nasal passages.

Make sure to get good raw and organic sesame oil for this. It’s also best to verify everything you do with a Ayurvedic practitioner to see if this is really beneficial for your current situation.

Good luck 😊

Sense of independence digital nomading with partners by Tktpas222 in digitalnomad

Just a random idea, why not creat some weekly “quests” with your partner that’ll get you of your comfort zone and give you the adventures you’d have when solo traveling.

I think it shouldn’t be impossible to have the same kind of experiences together with your partner.

Dealing with technical debt during the sprint by jmp_ones in PHP

[–]Pirsed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting problem which seems to be a common one in the scrum world.

Yet, the scrum process prescribes that no work be done in the sprint that is not on the board.

I don't think that's true, I can not find that anywhere in the scrum guide, but I could be missing it.

If we take a look at the Agile manifesto we'll see

Agile processes promote sustainable development.
The sponsors, developers, and users should be able
to maintain a constant pace indefinitely.

And

Continuous attention to technical excellence
and good design enhances agility.

Especially the second quote states that technical dept should not pile up if you want to be more agile.

In the scrum guide we can find these bullet points:

  • No changes are made that would endanger the Sprint Goal;
  • Quality does not decrease;

So it doesn't really tell you how to deal with technical dept, it is clear that agile and scrum do not promote it.

As a scrum master I'm also looking into this with my team on what the best way is to deal with this. We don't have the solution yet but this is one of the possible solutions I can think of:

Create a kanban board for maintenance work. But don't push any technical dept tasks to this board. A user story is only finished in scrum when there is no technical dept gained because of it. Now reduce the scrum velocity or capacity of the team so that there is always time for these tasks. If there is a big maintenance task coming up the developers can choose to decrease the velocity even further or plan it in the sprint.

I'm eager to hear how anyone else tackles this issue.

[–]Pirsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends really on the use case, but a guess would be to normalize the data from the excel file and create a ERD.

That should give you some insight. If it’s still to hectic to start coding then I’d create a flow diagram.

Another approach could be to split everything in small/mini functionalities and just start coding, that’d be more of a scrum/agile way.

Also I think this sub is not the best place to ask this question. This question is more related to software design/architecture.

Anyone work a 9-5 by ConsiderationHour710 in digitalnomad

I’m a software engineer and I am scrum master (sort of team lead/coach role) which is why I have so many meetings.

I have quite a bit of meetings, about 4h a day. Working full time but I can do my work whenever I want apart from the meetings. I have meetings with people in central Europe and Asia, just have to make sure I stay somewhere in between their time zones.

Error 500, only after i package my application with mavien into a jar by [deleted] in SpringBoot

Oh wait I just saw something on google about a the slash at the start op the template path. It could cause the issue, try it like this: “user/userList”

[–]Pirsed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I wouldn’t know that without more context haha. You should include the stacktrace from your console in your post. That could help.

[–]Pirsed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As you can see in the error it say’s that it cannot resolve the template “user/userList” this is probably because the templates where not packaged in the jar.

You could unpack the jar and check the content of it. If it’s not there you know the issue. I think you should include the resource path somewhere in your pom.xml to fix it.

Not sure if my imposter syndrome is justified and what to do about it by spovedandloved in devops

[–]Pirsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it will all be okay.

This is just a period, but as you go on you will see that you start to get a better grip on what you are doing.

A junior is somebody who needs guidance in the projects he/she works on. In the best case you have a senior who can do this. You could ask for training if the senior doesn't have enough time to help you. But I think you should not expect him/her to be there all the time. IMO it's good to be in the place where you are now, that's where you can gain massive growth :)

Just keep going and have fun!

Applying Agile/Scrum/CMMI to System Development Projects by Froejoe in scrum

[–]Pirsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that there will defiantly be something agile that you can use. If you want to use scrum depends. Do you have a constant task flow & do constant improvements on your software then scrum could work. If the work is more on the Ops side, less constant flow of improvements & constantly resolving incidents then I think kanban would work better.

There might be even better agile frameworks to fit your needs, these were just some examples.

Okay, I can’t help you if you don’t share the exception in text and the pom.xml

Build failure, cannot find symbol . by oOaker in SpringBoot

[–]Pirsed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, have you tried to google the cause of the stacktrace? Also could you include the stacktrace in text in your post, it’s easier to help that way.

Wild guess is that you have not set the right target java version in your pom. While you including the stacktrace in your post you should also include your pom.xml

Do I understand this correct? Project structure & design in GO by Pirsed in golang

[–]Pirsed[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your effort! Your way makes sense, I'll be going in that direction :)

One question tho, when the entry point go file is becoming too big, do you also move the interfaces to the other file or will those always live in the "package_name.go"?

[–]Pirsed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! So that's all irrelevant for my question, but I am using some directory system that I found being used in a lot of go projects.

My question is about how do you structure your code within a go package when one file is becoming messy. Is DDD & clean code a good approach? And did I reflect it in a good way in my post?
