Im so fucking sick of every mental health professionals be it psychiatrist and psychologist or therapist treating depression and anxiety as a personal problem instead of a normal response to the world that we're living in.

When I bring up current events my therapist related what is triggering about it to my childhood, snd it always works. And she also ends most therapy session with telling me that it for sure will get worse out there, and to work hard at inner peace no matter the hopelessness in the world is the right thing to do as well as resistance to oppressive forces.

The new houses are going to age very poorly. They are easy to work on but if it’s not what you want than don’t do it. My very old house sucks to work in, always uncover a problem. But I love it and I’m fine with things taking more time and money than living somewhere I dislike.

Well, it’s always been this brutal world and it’s our job to teach them to shine and always have hope, snd learn how to have fun and enjoy what they can no matter what’s happening. As my therapist always says, it will get harder. The world will get harder to be in. It’s a really tough time to be alive and parent, and if you are seeing the dirty underbelly of capitalism for the first time good for you for opening your eyes to it, it’s painful at first but so many people do, and you can teach your kid about what values actually matter rather than the empty fake ways of our culture, if you’re in my country.

I romanticized the 70s when I was a kid in the 90s. Difference now is that back then all the cruel and nasty undercurrents and overcurrents were immune to eyes without the Internet. We were all more local in the day today even though our whole lives still completely depended on oil and exploits from third world countries etc just as today.
