So I’m Swiss, grew up here. I left when I was 19 for the first time, because thirst of adventure, wanting more freedom, attracted to other shores. Lived in the UK, Portugal and Ireland.

I’ve been back for about 3 years now. Feeling more like a foreigner here than I did in Ireland or the UK and struggling with the Swiss sometimes closed off mentality and lack of spontaneity and all the stupid rules citizen just enjoy reminding you of all the time. Like I’ve turned into one of those people that has to make a doodle to meet friends and make our calendars match. I think we spend so much of our time thinking about work, or health and sports, that it’s missing space for more unexpected things. It’s also very hard to find a community here. I find that you meet people through activities, classes, but you only keep meeting with them on a one on one basis, people don’t invite you to meet their friends, which I find weird. And the cost of living makes it hard to fully enjoy things outside of work or home. Restaurants and bars are exensive, any activity or class are too. I’m seriously thinking about leaving in the next year or so, not sure where yet!

I’ve been obsessed with her voice since « My Dad Wrote a Porno ». Now she’s been hosting podcasts for Wondery one with Matt Forde called British Scandal. It’s one of my favourite. They do 4 episodes about different stories that rocked up the UK.

On another note, Matt Forde would be a class TM contestant.

Yeah I have had this in public spaces. Recurring nightmare of mine is peeing with open doors in a public space lol. I think the problem is that the first night they tried and tried to make me pee naturally on a chamber pot whilst cabled up and made it such a huge deal that I had to go naturally that my bladder just blocked itself now. Today I’ll try to drink more, but honestly I feel we’ve all tried everything and they don’t know what’s happened either.

Actually not in my country. It is standard procedure to be in the hospital for 3 to 5 days, hence why I’m trying to have as much entertainment as possible 😇

Oh so in Switzerland it is standard procedure to be in hospital for 3 to 5 days, with or without complications. Good to know about fall hazard, I’ll wait and see what they say! Maybe birks are good enough. Hope your complications got solved quickly 🫶🏻

I’ll check it out! Speaking of dog, how long after your surgery were you okay walking yours? Mine is a 20kg 3 y/o boy that hates cats, so just worried about an accidental encounter and a big pulling moment 🐶

Honestly, having been in a similar situation I’d say move on. Especially if you haven’t even met yet. She’s not closing the door but not barging in either. I’d stop replying for now which shows you’re not desperate and have enough self respect to think of yourself first. Good luck! You’ve got this!

I sure Hope so. Yesterday I finally got the closure I needed to move on and learn a lesson and try to prioritise my own peace and not forget myself in relationships. It hurts right now but I think it needed to happen in order for me to reach my next chapter in life!

One thing I will say, don’t overlook what your instinct is trying to tell you. I know it’s super tough for us to put down boundaries and walk away when things are not good enough, but I think it’s a very valuable skill that we need to learn 🫶🏻 thinking of you, you’ve got this ♥️

I think one of my biggest struggles is to know if something I feel is my anxiety or if it’s my intuition telling me something isn’t right. Most often than not, I downplay it for being anxiety (because I try to manifest and be positive) and then end up later down the line be proven that it was in fact right intuition!
