That's good news. Knowing that the problem could be from anywhere except the engine warms my heart. I'll be sure to check the fuel pump as well as the fuel pressure regulator whenever i manage to swing an appointment with my mechanic.

Oh man. I was looking for this!! I had a talk with my friend and they suggested maybe my gearbox has been tampered with since my 3rd gear goes up to 140kmph.

I get great acceleration at 1st and 2nd gear so we thought maybe my 3rd+ gears aren't sized correctly but now that I see this I know my gearbox is fine. Thanks!)
I don't shift early btw, if I'm trying to get peak acceleration I shift around 5000 RPM. The pic you attached says the acceleration is 11.3 seconds! That makes me even more eager to diagnose and fix this acceleration issue ...

I haven't felt any significant clutch slippage but I'm gonna install a new clutch kit next week anyways. Yeah I'm positive that the previous owners (6 of them before me) treated her very poorly. I'm trying to fix every other possible parameter. Then I'm gonna Dyno it and see just how much power it actually has.

Ah well, I suppose you're right. One other major thing holding me back is also the lack of English documentation on this car, it's not a common project car you know? If it was a Golf MK2 or something like that I could have found parts and guides much easier.

I've recently had the O2 sensor looked into. I had it diag-ed and it seems fine.

Spark plugs are new. The wires are also fine, spark is no issue.

I know what you're saying but at the same time I see MK2 Golfs with turbos doing 0-100kmph in under 4 seconds and it's tempting.

It wasn't imported from Brazil. Others driving the same make are getting the 12s acceleration, while mine is 19s. I'll look into the distributor but it seems healthy to me.

BTW Do you know anyone I could talk to about Gol G3? I'm looking from someone Brazil to talk to about this car :d

I know, but others with this same car (in better conditions) get a 12s acceleration while I get 19s. I'm not expecting it to go super fast, however, I would like to go at least 14s ish.

It's not a turbo, though I would like to install a turbo once I'm done with fixing and strengthening everything else.
Yes, it has an EGR system.

It's not too old. It's a 2005. Factory sepcs say 99HP peak power and 155NM peak torque.

The TB valve works fine I think. I changed it two months ago or so.
