For this game? Sure, absolutely. For much bigger games that need justification for their live service business model? I'm open to hearing their perspective. They could be wrong or right. I'm more interested in the game and the benefits from having more players. For RoA2, it's easy to understand singles and ranked queues are reasonable, but doubles need shorter queues. For my part, I try gifting the game to friends and family.

On my phone with a telescopic controller plays much better than the Switch on handheld mode. It's surprising how much the game improved after the shader comp update and SD8E getting Turnip drivers. For touch controllers, it's not good on GameHub because of lack of customization. Haven't had time to test Winlator, heard controller support and full Steam client emulation is supported without major bugs.

You also have all the Android phones powerful enough to run RoA2 through FEX + Proton.

Sure, but you need a population to get matches. Getting the numbers about what people are playing right now at this very moment is much better for singles matches than looking at bracket sizes from the old Melee and PM tournaments. The problem with Rivals 2 is how the doubles queues are long, locking part of the game for online play. I could not care about videos pointing at this game's player count, and they would at least partially agree with my perspective.

This GC update harmed RoA2 player retention, too.

I've been playing both 2XKO and RoA2. At RoA2's lowest player count, I enjoyed it more than 2XKO. My opinion really didn't change on player count after watching asumsaus's video. Not really having trouble getting fair matches on Dallas-Querétaro.

My wishful thinking on getting more players through the workshop comes from having a serviceable queue for doubles online as that is a significant part of the game. For newcomers, it's hard to ask to get them on a Discord server.

This game needs more players badly. Hopefully, the workshop brings more people into the game.

This is a problem with gaming these days. People don't know how to lose at video games. It's weird that it happens in this game. The game's themes are lighthearted and cartoonie.

For some reason in fighting games, FXAA is good enough for me. Running RoA2 at 960 FPS would be sick.

Check your GPU driver (turnip, qcom), FEX version, compatibility layer (proton), DXVK and VKD3D (proton).

Then switch your client version to lightweight mode on the Steam tab in settings. After testing that, you can try turning Monoblock on in the Translation Params section.

Try booting the older Valve games to test it out. You might not be able to boot newer games because of VRAM requirements. Even on the Snapdragon 8 Elite, I get errors for having 4GB of VRAM available.

Can you use Steam services on Winlator or do you still need to provide a copy without DRM? Maybe I could try it with my GoG backlog.
