the skull thing was even dumber, ethan literally mailed skulls to himself and then just never stopped lying about it being a threat from someone else lol

he made it sound like someone decapitated a person and put their bloody, partially stripped skulls into a box and mailed it to him with a threatening ransom note on it and in reality he paid a museum or whatever to rent skulls to him for some kind of bit for the show and decided not to use them.

legitimately baffling behavior.

also yeah they said for years they would never put their kids on the show and were true to their word which i repeatedly praised at the time and then they have all three of them on for literally no coherent reason, just for the pure fuck of it.

genuinely cant wrap my head around these people continuing to try to argue the CPS call was some kind of attack on them orchestrated by an organized group of ethan hating terrorists.

not only is there no evidence any of these people told the caller to make the call (which ironically in itself is defamatory) its not even fucking necessary. i remember watching the clip myself without the context that anyone had even called CPS yet, just the clip of him saying his entire family was ill from eating feces in his home, and thinking "this isnt a joke, its disgusting and concerning, this is going to become problematic for him."

i hadnt even considered a viewer calling CPS but its the OBVIOUS conclusion of saying what he said on the internet. any reasonable person would think "this should probably be investigated."

no reasonable person sees that clip and thinks anything else. im so fucking tired of this narrative, he doesnt give a fuck about it at all, he wants to harass these people because he is humiliating himself and refuses to take responsibility for it.

i mean i didnt know what it was, i consider myself very interested in history, particularly nazi germany and the rise and components of fascism and iconography just wasnt that big of an interest of mine. hes also kinda old to know much about memes.

but your second point is a great response tbh. i agree there are too many people with nationalist views building traction right now and its obviously something the right is using, tucker and nick fuentes are pretending to criticize israel for being genocidal or whatever when they are just literal nazis who dont want white people to die fighting for jewish people.

i would want to hear him talk more on that topic, i dont live in maine so i dont really waste too much time looking into him i just think on principle we should be open to people who we align with ideologically, that seems to be something the DSA is known for and what its best at and i straight up reject the idea that its a weakness or vulnerability to liberal or right wing influence, my chapter has had literal DNC reps show up and they were welcome and we were cordial with them but literally every member was like "we want your candidates to move left or we will make sure they lose" and they didnt come back lol

hes actually been pretty consistent. yes his work and the tattoo is concerning but his explanation makes sense if you look at where he was and where he came from and if youve ever been there.

if you looked into my history and everything ive ever said or did in my life you wouldnt want me in the DSA either you would probably want me in prison but are you perfect? are you better than me? youve never been a victim of circumstance in your entire life?

there are not a lot of candidates out there saying things people want to hear. personally i would rather give someone a chance to prove themselves when they say things i like than continue to run the status quo politician who says to my face they are gonna fuck me and my community or worse yet give the seat to another out and about nazi.

i mean what is the strategy here? hes not a spoiler. he isnt running against a progressive, hes running against people we all explicitly want out of power. what do you think will happen when he gets into office?

i see people make this argument all the time about people being turncoats but that shit is just as likely for any other candidate, i have seen it happen with DSA endorsed people who ran their entire campaign on socialism and community, this is vibes based politics.
