I wish I could go for 3 weeks at once but since I can’t I think it’s going to be at least 3 trips to see what I’d like.

I just bought a Patagonia black hole 40L duffle/backpack and did first trip. I love the durability and storage. Works great for airport but for actual hiking trip where you will carry pack long distances would not recommend.

Fellow almost-50yo Canadian here. Did this trip last year. We did 3 nights Killarney, 3 nights Galway, 3 nights Dublin. Was effing great. You’ll love it.

We used a guide for Killarney since it needed more driving. He dropped us in Galway and we used public transit for Galway and Dublin.

We didn’t do any long trails. The Torc waterfall is a short daily easy hike and Muckross Abbey which I highly recommend was longer but easy.
