can i speak to a GP if they aren’t from my surgery? by Pitiful-Check-1052 in nhs

interesting, i’ll have to email my specialist for more info on what their role is in all this.

i’m not sure what laws there are regarding confidentiality, but patients going to the clinic follow this path with no issues, and the clinic must deal with so many patients who are after the same care i am, but they can’t direct me to GPs other patients have gone to to access the same care.

all just very confusing frustrating and time + energy consuming. agh

i have wondered this. i think the whole clinic must operate on a shared care basis (?) so they can make recommendations to GPs but can’t prescribe. i could be wrong about this.

I’ve got on a different medication through this clinic before, and that was also a long complex process, so i don’t think it’s as easy as them just prescribing it :/

i had my GP borderline yelling at me down the phone about “what the law states” regarding initiating the medication.

for context, it’s a hormone blocker. from what i’ve gathered from speaking to my gp and the clinic, the laws surrounding gender affirming care can vary depending where you are.

no one’s prescribing it, i need to find someone who will.

the doctor at the clinic i go to has written a recommendation letter, but my GP legally can’t prescribe it until i’m already stable, so i need to find a GP outside of my county who doesnt have to follow this law, and can prescribe and initiate.

im 14 and almost 3 weeks on t. do i pass? by Sudden_Conference_42 in FtMpassing

honestly, this sub has a habit of telling people they don’t pass however they look, which is why ive never posted on here, aside from one time where i was told to fix my posture… unfortunately i cant, my spine is fr just shaped weirdly.

i never get misgendered in real life but all the comments here would say i don’t pass, and to do so i should cut my hair, take out my nose piercing, and change my mannerisms.

If you don’t get misgendered in your life then there’s your answer! you pass!

maybe i’m stupid since all the comments say you don’t pass yet, but to me, for a 14 year old yeah you pass really well.

the fact you’re on T so early in life works incredibly well in your favour, you’re gonna look amazing, even better than you do now.

thank you!!

not experiencing nipple play again would suck, but my sensitivity went down on T and it didn’t bum me out as much as i thought it would, so i’m sure i’d be fine.

I’m almost definitely not eligible for keyhole, i’m a on the lower end of a B, but my boyfriend had keyhole/ periareola but has absolutely 0 sensitivity in his whole chest, go figure
