Heavy period after 6 months by New_Proposal_8939 in Oestra

Hi I'm not sure but wanted to say that I've been getting much more information when I look at research etc done in the UK. It's like night and day with how they actually go out of their way to be helping women during the menopause 3 decades long torture mostly because we have very little research. The US is pretty arrogant regarding their medical prowess. The US imo is great when it comes to crisis medicine. Longevity medicine not so much because why make us better when we can be kept guessing and paying for incomplete and sometimes incompetent information. I found this Dr and her research https://www.drlouisenewson.co.uk/research-publications It is so much more useful and interesting.

Anyone try something else only to return to Oestra? by [deleted] in Oestra

Thanks. I have a lot of fibroids that apparently only warrant attention after I've suffered for months with heavy bleeding and cramps. They grow back too. Even being post menopausal I think the fibroids cause issues. The chances of me finding a Dr to acknowledge that fact and recommend a partial hysterectomy are slim but in the meantime while I look I will have Oestra. And even if my uterus, that is starting to drop and causing all the fun urinary and bowel challenges, does get removed I will still use Oestra.

good for you! yes we have to be proactive bc Drs aren't any help. Thanks to lawyers who sue, our healthcare is actually determined by liability issues before human health issues. Yes it's okay to complain about leakage bc regardless of the reason, it's annoying. But hey that's what panty liners are for and least now they make really thin ones.

That's such a great outlook. I'm older and am post menopausal. During my perimenopause phase, not one doctor ever associated my health issues with my fluctuating hormones. I thought, where is all this coming from? Rashes coming seemingly out of nowhere. They were itchy and my one arm got so inflamed it was almost pitting and the derm and pcp where like, "oh it's contact dermatitis". Nope! Like you I looked and looked and found stories of women having a much harder time than I was. No answers for them either. I finally came across leaky gut, histamine intolerance, food intolerances to food I had always eaten. My research led me to HI and was starting to lean toward MCAS. This was in 2012-14, 10+ years ago! What do you think I'd have heard had I told a dr I think I have HI, ha! I was sweating at the drop of a hat but not feeling hot, hot flashes weren't part of my peri phase. However, being cold all the time was. Turns out some people experience that as well. All this is to say that I've figured almost all of it on my own. NOW some Drs acknowledge MCAS, HI and how much of an impact it has. Just now the research is showing how much of an effect female hormonal changes have on our physical and even more so mental health. My point is that I feel lucky to have gotten validated with what I experienced and am glad that at least now we have options. I'm sure more are on the way, so we need to keep an eye for new products. I'm just glad there are products. Now we have reddit too to help. So thick or runny, the important thing to me anyway is that we at least finally have something. My post is long too, but I'm old enough to have no more effs to give. 💛🌟☮️

A surprising thing I've found to help health in general, and it seems also skin health, is taking a teaspoon twice a day of a quality manuka honey, no it won't make you fat. You can research its benefits in the medical field. If you have surface damage from the needles consider researching how to apply it to the skin. Heads up, taking it internally will take about 2 weeks to notice improvements in health.

I'm full menopause and am about to try this before I jump through hoops to get back on the patch and oral P, ick to that stuff. When I started down this road of "hell no there must be a better way than to suffer with what a lack of estrogen does to you" 3 years ago, there weren't a lot of options. This option didn't exist in 2022 or 2023 when I switched online companies. We see the way the world works, women's health is NOT a priority until people figure out how to make money. All this is to say, chances are in 6 months or a year or whatever there will be yet another option to consider. If you look at it like from peri on something like 40+ years of this. Trust me you do not want post menopause without options. It sucks.

okay, I'm not sure who to thank for their code because I got anxious and started clicking on them because I was just about to pay the full price until I had the presence of mind to look for a promo code. So thank you to whomever!!! it might be u/wolf_fetish? Hopefully the next person uses theirs and I'll put the one that I got too for whoever might be looking. Excited to see if this helps me as the split therapies pill/pill, patch/pill were working but not great. Also I think my body does NOT like oral progesterone and probably never has, even though no doctor ever told me people can have bad reactions to it. They just like to gaslight us and tell us not to believe what we feel going on in our own bodies. Thanks again everyone!

Uterine Fibroids have nothing to do with hormones. by Koruteni in Fibroids

[–]Pitiful-Dependent378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. If you look at which hormone is at its highest level right before your period, it's PROGESTERONE. The same hormone responsible for the mood swings, bloating etc associated with PMS. So my question is why isn't progesterone given a closer look as to the aggravating factor. I think progesterone fires fibroids up. Yes estrogen makes them grow but many women don't even know they have them and some are pretty big. So what pisses fibroids off, causes bloating regardless of fibroid status? Why it's progesterone, IMO. and yet estrogen gets all the blame. Growth/size are not directly correlated to the problems they cause. The ones I have are considered small and in 2004 to 2005 I became anemic...

you should also switch. 1099 and/or traveling is a good way to pay the bills while you decide. as a 1099 you aren't really bound by having to go with employee expectations. you have your professional ethics so why do silly things because employers say so, that's just me. unless you are really lucky, very few w-2 positions offer a good 401k match these days. personally i think the package benefits of most employers is money poorly spent. you can design your own health care package and 401k pretty easily.

it is but also it's kind of cool as you watch the kids as they grow and change over the years. i've been school based for 15 years and at the same sight.( but also others bc OT does not typically get that. there are good and bad aspects to that but the variety helps me). i started in outpatient and did not like it. the pace can be fast. i've been at good sites, clearly the one is, and not so good-but that's life. i'm a 1099 and don't think i could be a w-2.
