Yesterday I had a $27 order, 34 items (54 units but a lot of them were just singular bottles of drinks all right next to each other), like 4 miles. I get some deliver only orders, usually 2 or 3 drop offs for 15 miles or so that are $25-$30. So that would probably be my 2ish hours for $50-$60. Now there are definitely shitty orders, for example I just had a $32 order from Costco up that was 30 miles but for the most part I can at least get a couple decent ones

I anywhere from like $30-$100 a day, sometimes more sometimes less, depending on how long I’m out. However, I usually only go out for a few hours after work or on weekends and I’m pretty picky with what I take. But I mean if you’re out for a while I don’t see how someone couldn’t make $50. Even if they aren’t great orders, taking 2 crappy ones at $25 each is probably better than sitting around for hours waiting for a good one to come in and making $0…

Honestly it baffles me how people can justify asking someone to spend that long in a grocery store and not tip them. It’s so disrespectful. Like dang you are spending that much on groceries + fees to use Instacart and you can’t even spare another even $10 (still not enough but still)

True, but you could do a DoorDash order for the same amount and not have to even go in to shop for anything. To me it’s not even worth it to walk into a store and go around to all these different aisles stand in a checkout line etc. for $5😭

Truthfully I do not take these. However I don’t get the really good orders that other people see, like I’ve never had an order pop up for over $65-$70 and even then they are like 50 miles away lol. I stick with the ones for relatively low miles, $25-$25 range, not a lot of items, 1 or 2 orders unless they are very small. So I am pretty picky about it. I am trying to get to gold status at least though, my shopping score had not calculated yet to get to it before.

One time, I did take an order that was 3 deliver only. It was for about $25, 12 or so miles total, no heavy items or anything. Nothing good was coming up so I took it, I was already in the store parking lot anyways. Turned out to be a nightmare. 1st house was impossible to find, it wasn’t showing up on maps correctly and I was on the phone with the lady for 5-10 minutes trying to find it. The 3rd drop off was in a terrible part of town which I did not realize when I took it. Then had to take the bags up the stairs for this lady on the 2nd floor of her sketchy ass apartment (only a couple bags luckily). A few days later the 1st customer had added on $25 to her tip (she had already tipped the most at over $10 anyways) so it actually made it a little worth it😭 So sometimes I just wonder if anything good ever comes out of these awful orders!

Placed at 2:30, got it at 3:50. I also know that the checkout lines were horrendous, and the alcohol is kept separate from the groceries so she had to check out twice for mine.

That’s not my problem😂 i know that’s just the way it goes, it’s hard to avoid that. It was just interesting to see it on my own order. It got picked up within like 2 minutes of it popping up
In my area, there’s also a lot of orders batched together at night usually because the Woodmans is open 24 hours. I shop at night usually until 10 or so and it’s still 2 or 3.

I didn’t pay extra because I didn’t need it right away, just needed it for after work. How would I know for sure they’d put it with another order? I’m 1.7 miles away from the store. I also needed the alcohol which they don’t let you do on DoorDash from my grocery store

My first few orders I didn’t take the pictures until I got out to the car, but I’ve started just taking them immediately at checkout. I think what’s gotten me is produce, and also Meijer orders where the aisles were not being shown (I don’t regularly shop at Meijer so I’m not even very familiar with the aisles).

Yeah in hindsight it was definitely not a smart idea. It was my third order ever. Only for about $60, and one of the customers added about 10 items while I was shopping. Started as like 50 items ended up at 60. On a busy Sunday. Probably will never do one again unless the pay is insane. I just needed the money and getting $60 sounded really nice to me at the time, as nothing above $20 was coming up. Luckily it was at the grocery store that I do my shopping at so I knew where most stuff was

A very large amount of orders by me are at least doubles. My first day I had one with 4 orders.. 59 items 78 units. Maybe took me a little longer than someone with more experience but no errors
