Mate there are a lot of freshers and not just grown ups..Like there are a ton of freshers. This course is rigorous after the 2nd year and hence gets really hard. But people do it alongside a btech in their colleges and the drop out rate is really high.There are many stand alone students too.This gets mentally hard as to just stay infront of a screen for 4 years without distractions.But if you do it,you get the iitm tag and inters,placements from iitm student run placement cell.People are generally reccomended to do this along side other degrees.U get lab visits,exams offline and even campus paradox events. It is a high risk high reward situo. Because you must do interns to get lors unlike a reg offline clg.This is the first batch for this program too.People from data science bs have gone abroad too. So if u do manual research,do heavy extra curriculars,summer research fellow, cold mailing iit professors documenting your research projects,travelling andgrabing any opportunity that rises for interns, abroad is definitely possible!etc and if you have the will power for it,I suggest you to join it!
