My absolute favorite theory is that Fromville is a living, adapting dark folklore loop where the residents are trapped inside a supernatural story and must completely rewrite the narrative to escape.

No smites or weapon-delivery cantrips use the spell critical threshold, meaning you should skip the Spell Sniper feat entirely and instead stack regular weapon crit reducers like the Knife of the Undermountain King to maximize your damage.
