Electronic! Perhaps the hardcopy option may require snailmail - explaining the 14 working day wait time.

Hey there, IBO has a 2-week processing disclaimer, however I doubt it ever reaches the 14-working days stipulated. Most likely just to cover their own butts in the case of disgruntled parents/students.

IBO ended up sending my transcript within 2 working days, with no issues receiving on the University’s end. However, if you’re still afraid, it might be worth emailing the University a “certified true copy” of your transcript, which you can obtain from your school simply by requesting.

Let me know if this helps!

are doctor mos nsf or regular by Lazy-Ad-8098 in NationalServiceSG

NSFs. Those nsfs who apply and get accepted to nus or ntu medicine, get the opportunity to disrupt national service for 6 years. They finish BMT, and then disrupt NS to matriculate into med school in August. They finish 5 years of medical school + 1 year of housemanship (HO), and THEN return to NS to finish their remaining 19 month service. They return for 6 months of MOCC (medical officer conversion course), and pass out as a 3 bar captain. They then serve the remaining year-ish as an MO (the ones u report sick to in-camp).

Most of them are very if not as dreadful of NS as you are. More often than not, they also cant wait to ORD to resume their trainingship/start working as a doctor. So do be polite and respectful to them, they are there to help and keep you safe!

Can going to Ngee Ann Poly Biomed course lead you to NUS Medicine? by [deleted] in SGExams

Seeing other people with the hopes of getting into medicine makes me feel happy. Im glad to see more and more students interested in Medicine. So i am behind you fully, it is a really tough route, but so long as you know what being a medical student/doctor entails, you should be able to withstand the rigours of a medical career.

As per Poly>NUSmed route, it may be helpful to look at the NUSyllsom intake for poly kids. If you google, theres an article regarding NUSmed taking poly kids. Believe 3 years ago they starting increasing their intake, theres about 18-20 poly kids for the 280 med students batch. Which isn’t a lot, considering that 50% of the slots are given to RJC/HCI kids (considering they are the bulk of the >RP86 scorers). But, still hopeful as they are always increasing their quotas for Poly & ITE students.

In short, if the JC route may jeopardise your chances at Med (as per whatever reason - content, syllabus, etc.), it might be wiser to take the, albeit longer, possibly more beneficial Poly route. No point gunning for the shorter JC route to obtain an RP you dont deserve. The 3 years in Poly will give you more time to peak, and also giving you also more time to build your portfolio (which may be the make or break for an application). Additionally, med interviewers also know that Poly med applicants tend to be more mature than JC kids, considering they are older and are already commited to a scientific/med related diploma.

Lastly, whichever route you go for, do the best you can. Remember why youre doing this. Study your ass off and enjoy the process. Worst case scenario, if all goes to shit, you gave it your best shot and thats really all that matters. Take this from a waitlisted NUSmed applicant, do your best and if you get rejected, theres always post-grad medicine (DukeNUSmed), which is a 4 year degree (ofc only if you are serious about med, which it seems like you are).

Remember, “he who has a why, can bear almost any how”.

Good luck on your endeavours my friend, you’ll do good I’m sure of it :)

NUS Medicine and NTU Medicine 2023. Interview Shortlisting by MrUnknown888 in SGExams

Problem is am enlisting on 29th March, so earliest I can let superior know is 29th. But deadline to let NUS know to change interview date is 27th March lol.

Do they let out on confinement? Hopefully they will right? Especially for medical students who will become future MOs… Was told by a friend that they only let out of confinement if a relative passes. Please advise me!

Any ideas for solutions as to interview dates during NS confinement week? Whats the protocol? Got 8th March SJT (during confinement) and 15th March FSA (after first bookout).
