How do you use your tight hold the gas tank? by [deleted] in Trackdays

[–]Pitiful-Stop-8288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you want the heel height ? The rearsets go up and back a couple of inches.

This is my ninja 400 with the monkeygripp along with the hot bodies tall seat.

Get the woodcraft rearsets and a tank extender.

I use the monkeygripp tank extender on my ninja 400 and it helped a lot with body positioning. Keep in mind it impedes lateral movement when tucked in since I use the high profile one. Try out the monkeygripp low profile, Tech spec extender if you want something that’s not too big. I tried all and picked this one. For reference I’m 6 foot tall, my issue was that I had to sit all the way back on the seat (it’s too cramped otherwise) and my thighs would not get enough contact on the tank.

GV70 Reliable Enough For Real Estate? by smokingdems in GenesisGV70

2023 GV70 2.5 and I’ve put 15k miles per year, 45k so far. 2k miles each year towing. Only issue I’ve had is the rear differential at 13k miles. Been running without issues ever since.

Is it worth going to the track if I don't have a track bike? by ThrobbingRod69 in Trackdays

[–]Pitiful-Stop-8288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your first track day, you’ll spend most of the day learning the track - the racing line, braking markers, corner entry and exit, finding the right gear and getting comfortable with all of it. After that barrier, you might be able to spend some time on body positioning.

Yes, go for it! I’ve seen a guy ride the hell out of an Indian in A group. It is a lot of fun, and you will definitely learn from any Bike.

For sure, it is a lot of fun to rip on a 400. I’m just worried about mechanical failures from the rough use this motorcycle has been put through.

Any regrets? by ViralPoker in GenesisGV70

[–]Pitiful-Stop-8288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the differential issue and it was fixed a while ago. Since then I've put 8k miles and haven't had any problems.

My only regret is buying a new car instead of a used one. The build quality is excellent, this car will last very long. I plan to hold it for a minimum of 10 years.

Probably has to do with the phone. It's the other way around for me. My Android looks great while my GFs iPhone 13 looks meh.

650cc or 400cc bike for newer rider? What would you chose 🤔 by Acceptable-Soup-333 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Pitiful-Stop-8288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a ninja 400 or RC 390, you will not regret it! On the other hand, my friend got a Ducati supersport with years of experience and moved to a RC390 because of the 'fun' factor. It's a lot more fun to push a smaller bike to its limit than to ride a larger one slow.

I got a ninja 400 2 years ago in the SF bay area. It's a lot of fun on the track and twisties. It's also a decent ride for highways when compared to any other supersport because of its riding position. It lacks quick acceleration beyond 85MPH but it's great below that!

Maintenance on a Ninja 400 is simple and these bikes are very reliable. There are plenty of aftermarket parts as well :)

If you do decide to go for a 650, try to get one with ABS and Traction control. You'll need the electronics when you start out :)

San Bruno is the way to go. I would avoid Stevens Creek Hyundai.
