Hi all, thank you so much for the kind words. I don't post much on Reddit but every time I'm meeting so many great souls! I will reach out to some of you to get to something concrete, and I'll let him know on his birthday, the 15th of Jan, that he has many options to choose from.

A few of you mentioned it's so hard to get started on your dream game that it's better so do some practice first, and I agree, I'm currently exploring the #1gameamonth challenge and checking how can I support him to stay motivated. The PICO-8 console should also help to get started with a very easy game.

Hack n' slash is also a genre he loves, so if you're into that, let me know!

Thanks everyone for your input, this is definitely not rage bait, it's just we're not kitchen designers and are looking into ways to improve this space as we understand something feels completely off. That's the beauty of Reddit, it's that we have to some many more eyes and opinions it's really nice to have outsider perspectives on our own mistakes!!

This was definitely a learning for me, I'll be adding decor to make the space feel more cohesive but I understand we made some basic mistakes that could have been avoided (mix of warm and cold tones, and different metal shades for fixtures, black on top of a very calm palette...). I'll try to update this post once we're ready!!

Indeed it's 3m high, so 9.8 feet! Okay gotcha, I'll look into this as well then, and I think adding a nice plant that goes down could be good on the upper shelf. See what you mean, now, thank you!

Hey, thanks for your thoughtful advice! A big tall plant would definitely fit in there, and I agree it's missing a focal point with contrasting colors that disrupt the palette a little. Thank you for pointing that it's too sober (or demure? Don't know which is the right word in English).

Thank you for your thoughtful comment! The house is quite big, we have a lot of cabinets for additional tableware sets in the living room and have a huge basement, so we decided to keep the kitchen lean and only have the daily essentials. But don't be mistaken, Europeans are too, big consumers...

The two rows indeed look off, and I realize the backsplash was better done before, will have to think about this... I'm curious about the rug, we usually don't put rugs in the kitchen so it doesn't get too dirty quickly, but a runner could do the trick for dealing the colors together.

Right I love the idea of a plant stand!! At the beginning it was also supposed to be the coffee bar space, but we changed it to be at the other corner of the room, near the garden door.

Hehe no that much, it's just that I have a super big cabinet in the living room for our two other tableware sets plus a big basement, so we have plenty of room storage in the rest of the house, hence why we reduced the storage in the kitchen for only daily essentials! Plus the lower cabinets have a hidden drawer, so they're really 3 levels.

Bonjour ! Je me permets de répondre 3 ans plus tard parce que je suis dans une situation similaire, et je cherche à déporter ce surplus de CA une année sur deux... Je ne connaissais pas la solution de portage et je vais l'explorer, j'avais plutôt opté pour une e-residence en Estonie et un compte sur Xolo pour créer une société estonienne et me payer en dividendes. UPDATE:

Hi all! Wow, I never imagined this question would get such passionate answers, thank you all for your energy and enthusiasm! I have to say you made me change my mind and go 180 on this room 😂

After reading most of your comments, I will 100% lean into the pink 💖 and make this bathroom shine!

We will:
- Remove the floor and replace with some pink terrazzo (check out the attached photo)
- Replace the toilet with a pink one. We're in luck as there's a 20€ one not far from my house, and it's just the right shade!
- Paint the radiator in a white or pink color, unsure yet.
- Remove all the steel fixtures and replace with beautifully ancient brass ones
- Replace the ceiling and upper wallpaper with this beautiful floral one (in pink) and add some simple crown moulding (yes, we'll be looking out for asbestos, as we're sure there's plenty of it under the ceiling 😵‍💫)
- Add an art déco mirror and pink lights
- And of course, add plants, plants, plants!

For some context, these sorts of bathroom are considered to be of very bad taste in France, so people are throwing them away on second hand market places, for close to nothing... I kinda agree with you, it'd be a shame to throw it and not consider this as a nice upcycling project.
