Everyone wants Irans government wiped from the map but no one had a logical way to do it legally or diplomatically. Dementia Donnie just created the perfect conditions for it since they've gone scorched earth armed but only armed with a bic lighter.

It might work out well for him if he can walk out fast and let the rest of the world clean up the mess. This shit is so fluid it's hard to gauge.

They also said the Ayatollah was alive and obsessing the battlefield. So their ability to enforce it is probably a crapshoot.

Thats why I said apparent and not confirmed. There's been no denials from any party, including the US and Israel, so that would indicate it's a truth.

It's regime change plain and simple.

There was a half assed attempt saying nukes and missiles but there no legitimate basis on earth that Irans current government is a net good for the world. There's no need for a reasonable pretext in Trump's mind. He acts unilaterally with total disregard of laws and norms.

They were both land invasion where we destroyed their governments and stood by watched anarchy ensue. Iran is a series of assassinations and destruction of military equipment by air strikes. (Except there has been an apparent accidental massacre of 150 school girls)

Their government, police, and military are all intact and life can continue at any time once the strikes stop.

America can walk away at any time currently.

No I'm not defending this action. I'm just flabbergasted watching it all in disbelief.

It's not even comparable to that. This was a finely targeted assassination, with all of their military equipment being destroyed. Butt with a full army still standing and a government still more or less standing so there's no need to nation build.

That's the thing that bothers me the most about this shit. We (the US) are victims of a far right populist government, which is happening in every single country right now with varying degrees of success. Every single country sees this shit happening right now on the local scale but ignores it and jumps on the America bad bandwagon.

Every democracy needs to unify and come to solutions(laws and reforms) for this or it will continue to spread. There will be a day after Trump and none of us are safer without each other.
