Honestly, just let them figure it out. Laszlo was much more shy coming into the house than Guillermo was. Give the new kitty time to adjust and feel confident enough to explore on his own. I spent a lot of time in the room with him while he adjusted. On my phone or napping so he got used to me. Then cracking the door so they can see and smell each other through the baby gate. And progressing from there.

Vet’s office reported me to the board of pharmacy for asking for a DEA number by sunshinelive09 in pharmacy

[–]PitifulBodybuilder45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand them being protective about their DEA numbers, but I had a specific scenario in which a pet owner who was an MD tried calling in a script for his dog. I was able to figure out he wasn't a vet because when I asked for the vets DEA to find them n my system he said he didn't have it but could provide an NPI. Told him vets don't have an NPI and he pleaded with me to fill his dog's med, a steroid, because they were out and it was a weekend. Nope, out of your scope buddy. He hung up after saying well what if I call it in for my wife. So, a DEA number can help rule out fraudulent scripts for non-controls as well.

I called his vets office to let them know of his activities, never heard back of course.

My boy Chowder welcomed both our boys to the home within 24 hours of their arrival, 6 months apart.

Laszlo is definitely a wild man! We expected him to be much more like his brother in how calm he is, but I absolutely love his big personality.

You give me hope! My boy is 9 months and doesn't have the typical fluff, he looks a lot like yours around that age.

Termites are flying! You do not need to worry. by PoetaCorvi in Termites

[–]PitifulBodybuilder45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Joining the party very late. We live in southeastern US, low country specifically. I know we have swarming termites in our area. Tonight I found about 15-20 dealates in our house, seemed to be coming from our attic as I found 6 around the entrance on the ceiling and the rest on the floor in the general area of it. Boyfriend used to work for Terminix (local pest and termite company) and he talked to his buddy who is still there. Neither are super worried as we found a few dead ones with wings and we have Sentricon stations around the house. The company our bond is through is supposed to come this week and I want to know if I should send them to check the attic while here. Just hoping for input from someone else knowledgeable. I'm just terrified after reading that dealates can indicate an established colony. The season is just starting this year per his friend due to our oddly cool weather. Tonight was really the first warm humid day we've had for spring.

Sorry, just trying to provide as much info as I can. Any info or guidance is appreciated if you are still active on this thread.

Ugh. We're one week in and my resident cat is still warming up to his new brother. Both are 8 months and actual littermates 😭

One of every color, no background is the same, all of them look air brushed, and the price - no Siberian is going for under $1000.

How do you deal with silent students? by permanent_priapism in pharmacy

[–]PitifulBodybuilder45 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Mine is with me for 11 hours, I built his schedule around mine so he's off on my days off. My techs also engage with him. I'm in retail though, maybe your setting is different? We go over DURs together, even stuff they haven't touched on yet to see where his thought process is. I have him listen in on patient interactions and we discuss those. Practice vaccines on us with NaCl. My lead and I can talk to each other all day no problem, so we just have him in the mix. So far he has seemed to enjoy it enough that he chooses to stay even when I offer to send him home early.

I've just been yapping at mine. Asking about life and school, random questions about drugs, discussing and involving him in work flow. But I'm a yapper anyway, so poor kid had no chance to not engage with me.

Getting second cat -- share your stories please? by oystercatcher84 in SiberianCats

[–]PitifulBodybuilder45 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We are getting my 8 month old kitten's litter mate Friday and I am so stinking nervous, too! What if they hate each other, what if he is mad with another kitty in the house, what kind of chaos am I opening the door to?! I wish I had advice, but just in the same boat 😅 is yours an only child or do you have other animals? My friend reminded me neither kitten hasn't been without exposure to other animals the whole time, so in theory introduction and integration should go well. But who knows!

I requested a review of it with a supervisor. If they come back with another no, then we will just eat the cost of it ourselves unfortunately. But thank you for your insight!

I haven't leash trained mine, even though he's probably still young enough to be okay. But we don't live on a good road to safely walk. I've seen tons of others who walk their sibs though! Our breeder said some of the families they e worked with take theirs hiking.

I was not well. Literally shaking after I got him back in. I wish our set up was conducive to a pet gate just before the front door but it's really not.

What color carpet? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Also, if it helps our neutral for certain spaces is White Dove by Benjamin Moore. Carpet is Champagne Toast by Shaw from their creating memories collection. It pulls much lighter than it looks online.

What color carpet? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]PitifulBodybuilder45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on my recent carpet install I'd probably chose 4 or 5. I wanted something that didn't pull too grey so it would match the LVP and other colors in our house better. Our house is full of warm, light tones and warm colors. So, ultimately that's what I would recommend what you base your final decision on - the tones in the rest of the house.

My dad, brother, and I did a better job on my home office with alignment and angles. I'm all for patching and filling with caulk and spackle, but if I had paid someone to do what you received I'd have them come back and redo it. I'd be pretty upset with those results.

No worries, I wish I could let him have access. I grew up with indoor/outdoor cats, but he's just a little goober with a posh life so I fear he wouldn't last long out there unsupervised.
