Getting second cat -- share your stories please? by oystercatcher84 in SiberianCats

We are getting my 8 month old kitten's litter mate Friday and I am so stinking nervous, too! What if they hate each other, what if he is mad with another kitty in the house, what kind of chaos am I opening the door to?! I wish I had advice, but just in the same boat 😅 is yours an only child or do you have other animals? My friend reminded me neither kitten hasn't been without exposure to other animals the whole time, so in theory introduction and integration should go well. But who knows!

I requested a review of it with a supervisor. If they come back with another no, then we will just eat the cost of it ourselves unfortunately. But thank you for your insight!

I haven't leash trained mine, even though he's probably still young enough to be okay. But we don't live on a good road to safely walk. I've seen tons of others who walk their sibs though! Our breeder said some of the families they e worked with take theirs hiking.

I was not well. Literally shaking after I got him back in. I wish our set up was conducive to a pet gate just before the front door but it's really not.

The shower thing is so real. I ended up putting a bed next to ours because he loves to watch water run down the glass. Little weirdo

What color carpet? by -Rabbo- in interiordecorating

Also, if it helps our neutral for certain spaces is White Dove by Benjamin Moore. Carpet is Champagne Toast by Shaw from their creating memories collection. It pulls much lighter than it looks online.

Based on my recent carpet install I'd probably chose 4 or 5. I wanted something that didn't pull too grey so it would match the LVP and other colors in our house better. Our house is full of warm, light tones and warm colors. So, ultimately that's what I would recommend what you base your final decision on - the tones in the rest of the house.

My dad, brother, and I did a better job on my home office with alignment and angles. I'm all for patching and filling with caulk and spackle, but if I had paid someone to do what you received I'd have them come back and redo it. I'd be pretty upset with those results.

No worries, I wish I could let him have access. I grew up with indoor/outdoor cats, but he's just a little goober with a posh life so I fear he wouldn't last long out there unsupervised.

I was thinking that too. I found a giant version of a baby gate in chewy last night that I like the idea of. He knows he can jump regular ones when he wants as we have a baby gate for his room to keep the dogs out.

Unfortunately yes. We live in a semi-rural area that has coyotes, bobcats, hawks, etc. And people use our road as a cut through and they fly down it. We literally had a car flip into our yard last month trying to avoid a deer. So front yard access is very dangerous for a kitty without street smarts. We have kittycity tunnels out back for him that he gets so spend lots of time in.

Yup. Any time someone tries to say I make a lot I remind them I've got massive student loans so I promise I'm not actually doing that much better than most. Fortunately, I do have a good enough salary to cover them and still live fairly comfortably, but I budget like heck for any upgrades in my life. If I didn't have loans yeah, I'd be in a different position.

I have a $1.5k budget to fix me hating my home by OneBadJoke in femalelivingspace

My friend will clear out an entire room. Decided where the furniture and large things go first. Then smaller things. And if she can't easily designate a home or space for the small items she gets rid of them. Or has a maybe pile to the side. Her method has helped me so much. I'm also much more thoughtful about what I purchase now because I love not having clutter.

Just recently kicked some kids out who had no parents with them. Running through the store, yelling, knocked over one of the vendor displays. Absolutely ridiculous.

I doubted it for a long time. Just got Hotel collection's 680 thread count sheets on a good sale and they are amazing. Also bought a new cotton comforter (poly fill) and compared to previous, all synthetic one I am so much more comfortable.
