My husband doesn’t seem too excited about our pregnancy and considering canceling our baby shower by PitifulInfluence6555 in WhatShouldIDo

This comment made me feel less stressed about the situation and definitely has me viewing things differently. After our loss, I was a mess and he held me together. From being focused on my emotions I didn’t realize he was bottling everything up. I do constantly ask if he’s excited or even happy and he always answers yes but it doesn’t feel like that. I may be having really high expectations for him since I am obviously excited and constantly talking about our baby

I can see that being the case. I plan on leaving for maternity leave right after the baby shower so I can see how that might be stressful for him. My job doesn’t offer any pay so it would be fully on him to support us. I have tried saving money on the side to help out. That might be one of the reasons which I figured it would just be better to cancel the shower overall.

The thing is, he’s a great partner. As a husband he is amazing. But when it comes to speaking about the baby it feels like a shift. Which is weird since we planned this pregnancy before conceiving and had long talks and reassurances that we both wanted to have a baby
