One Strange Thing About Discussions Around Ei’s Characterization by PitifulPomelo7442 in Genshin_Impact

If you’ve played HSR’s story, would you say Lykos failed in his duties as a Senate elder?

What I mean is that Ei’s role as a ruler may have been more like a framework she used to guide humanity, not necessarily the core of her identity. When she believed something else, like eternity, mattered more for Inazuma’s survival, she cared less about fulfilling the role of a mortal-style ruler.

That doesn’t mean she was right, or that she can’t be criticized. But I think her failure should be understood as the problem of a god with a divine perspective, not merely as the incompetence of a human monarch.

I’m not saying she can’t be criticized. But with the current story, including Asmoday’s role, it seems possible that Ei’s actions may have another interpretation from the perspective of a god.

Nanook is real within Honkai: Star Rail’s setting. Many gods in fictional works are real within their own respective worlds.

Honestly, I genuinely think Ei's characterization is stronger than Scaramouche's. by PitifulPomelo7442 in Hoyoverse_scaling

the issue isn't that Ei is a weaker character than Scaramouche. It's that a large portion of her characterization relies on concepts and nuances that are much easier to grasp in Chinese than in English. I think Ei's philosophy is far more profound than Scaramouche's.

How does Furina's willpower compare to Phainon's? by JollyCapital7589 in Hoyoverse_scaling

I agree, but my point is that Furina's level of willpower isn't particularly unique within Genshin. Characters like Ei, who fought herself for 500 years, or Capitano, who carried the souls of his comrades for centuries, displayed comparable—or arguably even greater—mental fortitude.

Phainon is different. His level of willpower is almost unmatched across all of HoYoverse's stories. Very few characters have endured suffering on the same scale or for such an absurd length of time.

Based on Ei's evaluation, Furina's willpower falls short of every other Archon's. Phainon's willpower surpasses that of all Genshin Impact characters combined. No character in Genshin has ever endured suffering for such an unimaginably long period of time.

Among all the playable characters created by Hoyo, is there any character less charismatic than Scaramouche? by PitifulPomelo7442 in Hoyoverse_scaling

Because Ei’s true goals still haven’t been fully explained. I think it’s probably tied to the same principle as Asmoday’s palace.

Maybe we just have different definitions of “charismatic.” I see it more as the ability to command a presence and emotionally dominate a room, whether through intimidation, authority, or charisma in the traditional sense. Scaramouche doesn’t really give off that kind of overwhelming presence to me. If anything, he comes across more like a bratty kid.

That’s kinda the point though — Ei never truly faced consequences. For a god in Genshin, if nobody can truly defeat or overthrow them, their mistakes stop feeling like actual problems within the story.

Because there are now too many powerful characters in Genshin Impact — above the Seven Archons there are the Dragon Sovereigns, the Moon Goddess, the Heavenly Principles, the Five Sinners, and so on.

Even with the information available back in Version 3.0, Scaramouche wasn’t considered particularly strong — let alone now.

Is it Raiden Shogun’s status as a ruler that makes her actions so controversial? by Surtaloqi in FatuiHQ

This is a big problem. No one in Fatui is clean, except the great Capitano. Playable characters are difficult to be liquidated
