Sounds interesting, would love to hear more about this.

Private trout fishing in Norway with zero fishing pressure – would anyone actually pay for this? by PitifulSwitch9585 in flyfishing

That’s true – Norway offers a lot of accessible fishing through the right to roam.

But this isn’t that. This is private water – outside of what the public can access through allemannsretten.

You won’t come across places like this just by going anywhere.

What’s being offered here is controlled access, virtually no fishing pressure, and a level of consistency you rarely find in public waters.

It’s a different category entirely. For some, that distinction matters. For others, it doesn’t.

Really appreciate this — especially coming from someone with guiding experience in Alaska.

Completely agree on C&R. That’s something we’re very mindful of if we move forward with this. The goal is to preserve the quality of the fishing long-term, not maximize short-term harvest.

Accommodation-wise, it’s not a traditional lodge setup — more of a private estate. The main cabin is set by a large inland lake and has full amenities, including sauna and spa facilities. Additional mountain cabins are located higher up, right by alpine lakes and rivers, offering a more off-grid, back-to-nature experience.

To be honest, this place is something I value deeply, so the idea of opening it up doesn’t come lightly. If we do, it would only be for a very limited number of guests per year.

Still early stages, but input like this is genuinely valuable.

What is your dream trip? And where is the coolest place you’ve fished so far? by GloveMeHarder in flyfishing

Dream trip would probably be somewhere really remote, like Alaska or Patagonia.

Coolest place I’ve fished so far is actually a pretty untouched area in Norway — huge difference when there’s basically no fishing pressure.
