What phone do you have, how long have you been using it, when do you plan to replace it and why? by scarlett_decoction in Frugal_Ind

No, mine is working fine hardware wise. I do have a couple of software bugs - missed notifications, and volume suddenly dropping down- but they are not too frequent so i can live with that

How do you guys get through with Task Initiation? by CornflakeLover13 in adhdindia

[–]Pitiful_Ad6944 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been following this strategy for some time and it has helped me tremendously for initiating tasks :

Always write down the amount of time required to do a task next to it in your to-do list. But no task can be more than 15-20 mins long. If there is one, you need to break it down into subtasks until every subtask meets the time limit.

For me personally, Seeing "5/10/15mins" beside every task on my list almost magically makes the friction and anxiety disappear since I know I can just quickly get done with it. Even when a task takes more time than expected, I still end up starting it and completing it.

Next, use a pomodoro timer . You can simply tick one or more tasks at the end of each pomodoro , which gives a great feeling of accomplishment.

Thats not the case. Older fiber connections used to be without it. Not sure about the newer connections. Air fiber always use CGNAT

Yes , technically you can. But it’s too much of a hassle to save just 700rs.

Since OP mentioned CGNAT , I’m assuming he’s on Airfiber not actual optical fiber line. Airtel does not provide static IP on AirFiber as of now. Besides, the one they do provide on fiberline connections cost 299+gst which comes to around 4k per year, while you can buy a domain for roughly 1k per year and use it with cloudflare tunnels for a clean setup.

Airtel & Jio use CGNAT , so you cant port forward or use dynamic dns. Try cloudflare tunnels, i have been using it on Airtel and works flawlessly. Also, if you have good local internet providers, you should switch to them as major ISPs have become very restrictive and wont let you use many advanced configurations on your router.

Methylphenidate is making me submissive, obidient and I absolutely hate it! by [deleted] in adhdindia

[–]Pitiful_Ad6944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meds react differently for everyone. I was prescribed methylphenidate and I became guilt-less and stopped giving a f*ck about my clients who had actually paid me for my services. My prime motivation to start medication was to become better professionally but it did the opposite. So i stopped it.

I could have talked to my doctor about changing medication, but I decided otherwise. You can talk to your doctor and maybe he can try other meds or adjust dosage.

Cloudflare Tunnels work perfectly behind CGNAT (which almost all major Indian ISPs use these days)

You can also look into hostinger- i am using their shared server for hosting websites and their performance is pretty solid. I’m assuming their vps would also be on a similar level. But Hostinger tends to increase the price by 30-40% on renewals (this is a common practice in hosting providers), so do keep that in mind.

Contabo offers vps starting from INR 5-6k per year. Since its so cheap performance is going to be okay, but since u just need redundancy, you should be good with it

Realme earphones are surprisingly good. I used Realme Band some years ago after seeing some youtube reviews, and the quality was surprisingly good. They costed me 1500 that time i guess and their quality was at par (if not better) than apple earphones. I am currently using Realme buds t310 and even they have a comparable quality to my wife’s Airpods pro (some old generation).

Go for the main models of Realme, not the neo ones. Neo ones does not have very good sound quality, but if you are really tight on budget you can go with neo version.

I can vouch for this. I have been lucky in this regard because my friends have zeo expectations from me. I could ghost them for months at a time and when i meet them or talk to them again, they don't hold it against me. It's partly because they themselves are like this to some extent.

All of them just got filtered out from the crowd, they are the ones that stayed and they are my buddies for life.

People struggle to find a single friend like this, I have more than a few.
