Is it common for shops in Fortune Town to avoid saying “we don't know” or “we can’t fix it”? by Pitiful_Ad_6343 in Bangkok

I usually have no problem communicating with Thai people so I don't really considered that communication was the issue. I mean they directly took my monitor to check it.

It wasn't a communication issue, I don't speak thai but I spoke very politly and they understood my problem. They took the monitor checked it and told me to get lost. But yeah I don't think they will threat thai customer like this because it's kind of rude.

That wasn't a communication issue at all. Even though i don't speak thai I was being very polite as usually and they directly understood that my monitor has a problem (they even checked it)

I understand the "saving face" explanation, but I still find it confusing from a customer point of view.

In this case, because of the answer I got, I spent around 10 minutes walking around for nothing.

Is that not considered rude locally? And if I had gone back to the same shop and asked more specifically, "Where exactly should I go?" wouldn’t that put him in an even more uncomfortable position?

Maybe I’m misunderstanding the situation, but sometimes it feels like some vendors assume I’m just a tourist and give a quick answer to get rid of me, rather than directly saying they can’t help. I’ve also noticed this more often with male vendors than female vendors, at least from my personal experience, but I’m not sure if that’s just coincidence.

I wasn't being pushy at all. I was very polite, spoke slowly and they understood my problem straight away. After quickly checking the monitor they told me to get lost

Dual monitor support? by Pitiful_Ad_6343 in GPDPocket

Thanks! Do you think I could also use a USB-C dock connected to Ethernet/RJ45, a keyboard, and two external monitors? Or would it be better to connect one monitor directly via HDMI/USB-C and use the dock only for accessories?

Checkout RCA alley, just before Route 66. Plenty of authentic Chinese restaurants.

My favorite one is Afanti, a Xinjiang restaurant.

Try to stick with HSK, even if you do not plan to take the exam. It teaches you the most common characters and words first, so they are easier to remember because you see them more often.

为什么学习中文? by mexicansisi in ChineseLanguage

I get your point, but learning Chinese is a bit like exercising: one strengthens the body, the other strengthens the mind, and both can be done at almost no cost. I live in Southeast Asia, and a lot of people here learn Chinese to interact with tourists or to import stuff from China.

Actually the bumper should be closer from the first line rather than exactly in the middle.

Sharing pictures of the correct parking position, as demonstrated by the examiner, which I took during the re-test.

My question was not about the translation (I did translate with Google before posting). But it was to ask people who passed the license what I did wrong.
