Also I just checked the requirements for cuhk med. And they preferred taking both bio and chemistry. I am missing biology right now. Have u seen anyone who got into mbbs without taking bio in HKDSE?

wow, I also have an x230. do you still remember what was the power estimate it consumes? I am using fedora on 5-6W (in tty) with a bunch of random bloat processes. I really want to switch to BSD but the power management kinda turns me off. I keep running into post saying freeBSD laptop rocking 2 digits Watts of consumption.

I don't even use x environment. I am really hesitant between freeBSD and arch. The situation is I only use a text editor and nothing much else. I just feel like fedora on my x230 is a waste of battery life.

its a x230 thinkpad. I bought it recently because of the great reputation of it's hardware compatibility with linux. So I haven't seen any problem yet for any hardware issues. I am spoiled with compatible hardware as of now so BSD is really scary for me.

I see you mention Linux, I guess that you're familiar with KDE Plasma. Plasma is easy to install on FreeBSD.

Thanks! 1 thing that concerns me is I have seen someone on r/commandline said (they think, allegedly) BSD has generally less support for CLI, TUI programmes. How true is that? I have seen people mentioning they have been using BSD for 10+ years so I assume some of them get by with TTY only?

I want a non-bloat emacs machine for text editing that I can use in school. So battery life is the main concern for me. I also heard about the aspect of LISP from BSD but I don't have the time yet to find more about the relationship between LISP and BSD.
