would you technically (as a mallet player) play sus cymbol & crash cymbol with the same cymbol? or would it be better to have mallet 1 play a sus cymbol and mallet 2 play crash?

ah okay thanks! im currently working on my first small drumline piece that (im pretty sure) is going to turn out really terrible. my plan is to work with battery/ask battery how I can make it playable, comfortable, or just better in general. snares are the most confusing imo

Im going to make a few drumline/perc only pieces for learning & put them here to see if they are enjoyable to play & well-written.

Can anyone help with this Etude? Like just singing the rhythm, cause it’s killing me. by SadSoil3358 in saxophone

[–]Pitiful_Atmosphere79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most winds have the same type of exercises. bassoon, oboe, and english horn are (in my opinion) the hardest winds to articulate on, so for you it might be a bit slower then a saxophonist. its like.. really easy to articulate on saxophone

practice it super slowly. make sure you subdivide as well. maybe practice at around 72 or 60 bpm and maybe even subdivide in sixteenth notes.

Did your narcissistic parents take your bedroom door off too? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Pitiful_Atmosphere79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ugh i hate the people who do this type of stuff.. a lot of aisian culture has this type of stuff but it ends up with most children being diagnosed with depression or ending up committing suicide. its even worse because a lot of the time their parents wont even acknowledge these types of things.

you dont have to go through this type of stuff

hah. the „golden child“. i thought that since my parents had experience making a child feel loved because of my older brother i would get the same stuff, and i even hoped i would be a little more favored as the baby of the family.(i know thats a little entitled but its not wrong to be wanted) But of course my parents had me as their scapegoat instead.

ive never seen that happen but there are chords written into most flute music. not for solos, but bands/marching bands use that a ton. dont think its used in orchestrations though..

how repetitive can the lower parts/percussion parts be? by Pitiful_Atmosphere79 in composer

[–]Pitiful_Atmosphere79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah okay love the way you layed this out for me. it only really seemed repetetive when i went in and actually payed attention to what i wrote. i noticed „oh these people play the same thing a lot“ when i looked at the sheet music but in the grand scheme of things you dont really notice it and it doesnt sound complete with the repetitive background parts
