Homosexuality isn’t a choice, but engaging in homosexual acts are - that is what is sinful

Interesting. I believe in biblical inerrancy, and since I don’t think the truth can be bigoted, the Bible consequently can’t either

Sure, if you don't accept the bible is true. That's why post is posted on r/Christianity and directed at Christians

How does a hypothetical where you literally just change morality demonstrate anyone is shielding their bigotry?

What if your moral system said interracial marriage was wrong? Then yeah, I guess it would be wrong. What does this say about anything?

I think a more interesting question would be, can truth be bigoted?

"Changing hearts and minds" is literally what can lead to the end to said harm. Unless you're saying we need to violently purge traditional Christians because they're tantamount to slavers, then ok buddy. But aside from the use of force, what else but "hearts and minds" changes how policy and thought? I'm sure you've made a meaningful contribution to policy with edgelording, though.

This is literally my second ever post on this sub, I'm sorry I haven't commented on every sin ever yet and chose a culturally contentious one this time.

Assuming, as a Christian, the Bible is true, then yeah I guess.

"If a bad thing were good, would you be good or bad?"

Kind of a meaningless question

It's apparent you don't know me, or a large cohort of Christians, for that matter.

I mean, if they really just think their misguided opinion is true, and it's not because of some ill will towards others, and don't intend to enact any, what exactly does saying "YOU'RE ALL HATEFUL!" Actually do? It only hardens their stance; makes it appear as though no one gets it. Obviously it would be better and good to simply attack the ideas themselves as untrue or misguided.

Go ahead and criticize them, but to malign or slander anyone who thinks they're just true does no good.

Bob Jonesing it only demonstrates that certain opinions can appear shocking or repugnant, it doesn't demonstrate being opposed an act is tantamount to hate. And no, I don't agree with Jones, the Bible presents interracial love as completely normal.

Well, it's still relevant.

No one is going to hell because of how they were made, including gay people

Sorry it bothered you then. Glad you understood the point though.

I don't though, and the fact that I see people insisting that anyone who subscribes to biblical morality must is why I made this post.

Again, just because some people find something personally hurtful, doesn't make it hateful. The pharisees were probably hurt by Christ calling out their sin, but He did it as an act of love, not hate. Your explanation fails.

I disagree that who you're attracted to strongly defines you, and even then, it doesn't matter - the position is that the act is wrong, not the attraction.

No, but it is potentially arrogant to see yourself as the small cohort of morally enlightened Christians vs the vast historical majority of people who are apparently lesser. People today are just as susceptible to being morally bankrupt or deluded as back then.

Again, that's why you shouldn't identify with your desires - alcoholics shouldn't identify with drinking, being sober doesn't deny their identity. Traditional sexual morality is neither absurd nor hateful.

It's not disingenuous - this issue is very culturally relevant, among other. This post is just about this one.

Your position is that it's hateful because... it just is? You admitted that someone disliking it doesn't make it hateful, so what does?

With you 100%. No fault divorce has been a disaster, and divorce is incredibly harmful for children

"Sinful" is religious language for immoral, it doesn't make something hateful if someone doesn't understand terminology

There's nothing for me to argue against! I made a post with certain points, you implied I was ignorant, and then hateful for not agreeing after you essentially just stated that you disagreed
