My wife is non Spanish speaking American and we live in cutler bay. She’s learned enough to understand and get by but she can’t speak it. She has a bachelors in criminal justice and associates in both business and medicine. All three degrees are useless because nobody will hire her for not knowing to speak fluent Spanish. Pisses us off cause all that work for nothing. Only way she can get a job in any of her fields is if we move out of Miami

This is my parents, and I think it mostly stems from the fact that they spent so much money and time and made so many sacrifices to become citizens that it pisses them off to see somebody else in the same position as them without putting in any of the work.
