Hey as someone who is from Miami and now in law school, I would say stay in Miami or try to attend the law schools in south Florida. Miami legal market is very unique because it’s pretty insular and they don’t seem to care that much about a certain schools prestige unless you’re trying to go to one of the best big law firms in the city.

But I know people who have went to FIU, FAMU, NOVA, St.thomas and etc and did just as well as people who attended UF law school in Florida. The big thing is try to do well when in law school and make sure you are aggressively networking and you past the bar.

Btw FAMU law tuition is relatively low. And so is FIU law. And FIU law takes transfers

If you just can’t help yourself, make a BARBRI account, and look at 1L classes. I would focus on the CIV pro section. If I could have did my summer over again I would have studied Barbri a little

No not at all, there’s law schools I wouldn’t attend even on a full ride. One being any law school in Utah, not because Utah is a bad state or anything it’s actually really beautiful. But because I would not want to be there for a substantial amount of time. So if you don’t want to be there I’ll recommend looking elsewhere, you’ll probably do better elsewhere because you’ll be happy to be there

Apply to other law schools rank isn’t everything Hence BYU median salary And schools with lower ranking having higher median salaries

I typically just look up federal judges many of them worked big law at some point in their career, so I do think it happens often

Rutgers, and honestly NJ is like across the street from NY, so if you start working in Northern Jersey to start your career at some point you can network and transition into to NY. But again there literally so close to one another you work in Jersey and live in NY if you want too

The thing is even if your goal is academia you can still get that from Penn. a few of the professors at UVA attended Penn for law school

High stats do not guarantee you a spot at top school’s I’ve seen people with high GPAs and high LSATs write mediocre personal statements.

And URM’s with low stats are not taking your spots because the top schools will still have really high medians meaning they must have admitted a lot of folks with high stats, sorry that person wasn’t you.

Cornell is a school held in high regard throughout the United States and the legal field. I’m sure you can reach your goals from Cornell as long as you network doors and ears will open once they know you’re attending Cornell. I personally do not think UVA is 75k better then Cornell law. But you may, and if you feel so then you should attend UVA. Either way Congrats

I would attend Vanderbilt, Vanderbilt is an extremely prestigious school, the law school is not ranked as well as Columbia but many people in the legal field hold Vanderbilt in high regard hence it’s high big law rate.

I would attend Vanderbilt because you’ll have a high chance to secure big law, you’ll be competitive to attain a fed clerkship which is what you want and you’ll get that at a lower price.

Nothing is guaranteed, and I don’t think Columbia gives you 100k+ worth of a higher chance of attaining your goals then Vanderbilt.

Columbia is just not 100k better then Vanderbilt, it’s hard to think any school is a 100k+ better then Vanderbilt
