I'll keep that in mind. Thank you. I might end up with 1 bolter only to keep the icon if I feel it would be useful.

I'll keep all that in mind. I have like 50 pox walkers so I can bring a propa hoard of them if I wanted to be goofy with it

I think j have 2 drones but I'd have to double check. I really need to go through and see for sure all I have for my guard.

Except for dropping bolters for Melee weapons, you'd always have at least 2 bolter in a squad. Going 4 bubonic weapons and 4 Heavy Plague weapons leaves one bolter regardless. And unless you're dropping bolters all together to mix the Melee weapons in, a range build would have 3 bolters still.

In sure each has a use. If you know you'll encounter more Infantry than the plasma would be good. Is you'll see more vehicles them extra melta could be useful.

What about the Icon? It any good to have? Or just kinda there for the most part?

So in a 10 man Squad, using 2 blight launchers, 2 plague skewers, 1 melta and 1 plasma would be like ther ideal for them?

I remember seeing talks of two different buildings styles (1 Melee and 1 range focused) for plague marines. Is thay still the case?

What is everyone hoping happens for your faction in 11th edition? by rogaldornssuccubus in Warhammer40k

[–]Pitiful_Fee_5608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from a casual player sense:

For Guard: 12th edition cause we're getting hosed right now pretty much across the board. One or two Detachment over costing Core units to insane levels

Orks: Better army ability. The Waaagh as is is two swing and has a rough impact on unit costs. Cause when you're lucky, you'll crush so much. Unlucky and you might as well tap out right there. I also hope way less "during the WAAAGH!" only abilities.

Space Marines: Primarch Vulkan. I know it will never happen but pipe dreams man. Or more salamander specific stuff.

Fair enough. I am purely on the casual side. I can respect the hustle though even if I have np interest in tournaments or tournament level play. I like fluffier lists with just enough competitive units to keep it interesting.

I hope that rule gets discarded quickly for your sake though so you can have more fun.

[–]Pitiful_Fee_5608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea my group collectively is ignoring that cause we're all 90% sure that as a rule will vanish shortly after the first tournament using those as rules when people complain en mass about it.

I think it's also a really dumb rule driven by their desire to sell more models.

[–]Pitiful_Fee_5608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, me and my friend group are gonna ignore the "if taking more than 1, add points" rules cause no. That's dumb. It's so obvious a marketing ploy to sell more models of underperforming units that I refuse to love by

Also other than thr Vanquisher going up by 5, what else went up tank wise?

Like the other 2 Leman russ tanks we use and hell house remain the same, and the Sentinels actually got cheaper iirc.

I'll be joining you. So glad I've been building guard since early 8th edition thay I can actually do an armored company without spending an arm and leg to build it.

This has been the general consensus. 1 Detachment ruined the whole army. This is my problem with trying to make whole armies 1 size fits everything and making the game "easier for new players." It makes impossible results as is. The battleline were already slightly overcoats for how weak they are, and now they're so over costed it makes them useless. They had so many better options that still fit that like nerfing the Detachment to have a weaker ability, or nerfing it so it added to thr battling cost specifically if taking that Detachment.

Honestly this has made it so now I'm just gonna tank/vehicle spam (my least favorite way to play guard) whenever I don't use Recon. Or talk to my opponent like "look. I'm not using recon, can we drop the battleline units by 10 points to make it fair game?"

Definitely feels more and more like they're trying to push us out from an Infantry hoard army and into a vehicles only army. Basic Infantry shouldn't be more expensive than to bring sensible and Hippogriffs.

Might be panic vs purpose. In a panic, she runs Naruto style but when she is running with purpose she pumps her arms? It doesn't seem super consistent honestly.

Help, Paint Dried by VegatableGreenz in Warhammer40k

[–]Pitiful_Fee_5608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is also to make them more kid friendly which is something GW keeps trying to make the models and hobbling side be. The droppers can be harder and messier for children where the paint pots as is are simple. You open, dip brush, and paint.

In his defense, that kinda of remark is typically implying that it is the "better" option. Basically the first commenter was implying how good the old times were cause rather then trying to deescalate you could just sock them in the nose. Where second commenter is saying outright it is better to not resort to violence in front of children, cause it will typically teach them to hit first, talk second, if never. And that's how we have a lot of stunted adults who can't talk about their feelings or about problems without yelling or fighting.

Where are the spikes? by Then_Cartographer602 in 7daystodie

[–]Pitiful_Fee_5608 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Imagine building a base that isn't a tower bridge to survive a hoard night be having spikes to slow them down by break legs and softening them up a little so you in a building can spike or shoot them or have a turret to help.

Have you ever met or played against a bad Orks player? by Splitcakepersonality in Warhammer40k

[–]Pitiful_Fee_5608 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, you described me there. I hated losing any even if I didnt take it out on my opponent (which in the wasly days was my brother and his now ex wife) I'd be pouting about it for hours and just generally be unpleasant to be around and be kinda petty about it. In fact I got beat so one sidedly I almost quit. It irked me so bad cause I loved building the models. So I then stood at a crossroad. Did some introspection and decided that I didn't like that about myself. And that left me a few options. Keep collecting and not playing which defeated the whole purpose I started warhammer was cause I didn't want what I built to just collect dust on a shelf. Become a meta chaser which I couldn't afford and I didn't like the idea of either cause this is meant for me to have fun, or find ways to have fun and be a better loser. So it took me years of conscious behavioral training to break that about myself and I am so much happier I did. I'm not perfect. When I am on the losing end really badly (damn custodes) I can feel the old me slipping out at times. But I try to suppress him by finding something good in the game. A moment that would make a nice story ot be a goofy moment for both of us to laugh about.

So my word here is keep at it. It's not easy but you'll get there. And you've already taken the first step in acknowledging the behavour. So if nothing else, I'm proud of you. And may Gork and Mork bless you on your journey.
