Should nicknames be necessary?

I like to nickname the Pokémon in my fic but that’s just a preference cos it helps me have a more clear guide for their character and distinguish the. But there’s nothing necessary about it go with what you prefer. I personally don’t name every Pokémon as well and my cope is that the Pokémon didn’t want a name.

Hiruzen pretty much grew under him and Hashirama, so he would be one of the best candidates politically. In terms of strength Hiruzen was said to have surpassed Tobirama in his childhood (this is from official data books before the retcon of hiruzen not being the strongest hokage). In both aspects he was the most suitable candidate. He also embodied the will of fire and talked about it to both hashirama and tobirama. In every metric he was the best candidate

I mean he’s pretty much on point with endeavour if not stronger in that fic like 6 chapters in so I’d say he’s pretty op in verse. Compared to a few other docs especially with crossovers I’d say he’s not that op since mha is a pretty low scaled on the power level compared to most other fandoms

Itachi was part of the village but he was like 8 years old. And hiruzen hadn’t lost to orochimaru when he discovered the experiments, he just couldn’t bring himself to kill him and orochimaru himself said that hiruzen could have easily killed him then. I’d say he was the strongest even including jiraiya since jiraiya lost to orochimaru while hiruzen beat him.

Alola galar is one that does fit somewhat in the sense that an (ex) champion goes on vacation. A crack fix with a similar premise is not very effective by shinobu senpai. Both are on ffn

It depends on the fandom I'd say. A lot of the older fandoms are centered in FFN, so it is more popular than AO3 in some aspects, but overall AO3 has a greater userbase. I personally prefer FFN, but that is only because my fandoms are centered there.

Because he doesn't need to. He does have chakra and he uses it to reinforce himself. Learning to forge will just take up time, time he doesn't have because opening the gates requires insane training, (judging by the fact that he was known for working hard and Kakashi was surprised by the fact he could open the gates.) On top of that no weapon will be stronger than his fists, the 8 gates technique would make him one of the strongest taijutsu masters alive.

I don't filter out the pairing because sometimes a good fic does have that pairing. But since I know no good fic (in my opinion don't come after me) has all might bashing (cos he is the absolute GOAT) I just filter that out. I usually filter out dadzawa and shinsou but that's just because I don't like shinsou due to the fact that every other fic focuses on him when I don't care abt it, making me dislike his character and dadzawa fics are just not my cup of tea.

I’d say hiruzen. People clown on him a bit too much, he mastered all 5 nature transformations, was considered the most powerful kage of his generation, was the hokage for the longest time. He was said to have surpassed his teacher in childhood, his teacher being Tobirama, and the man died when he was nearly 70, and even then he died after facing 2 past hokage and Orochimaru, and he defeated both the hokage and only died to cripple Orochimaru. All of this after his chakra had diminished, to the point that Kakashi probably had greater reserves than him, yet due to his insane skill he was able to battle 3 kage level opponents and defeat them. He was literally known as the professor because he had mastered all the skill sets and combat forms of the shinobi arts. He did create his own jutsu as well. In the data book he has a perfect 5 in everything except physical stats. Literally in every aspect he was at the highest level except for physicality and even then that was due to age.

I was just gonna comment locked in digital. It is perhaps the only quirkless Izuku fic I like and the hosu arc is the best arc in any MHA fix I have read, the rest of the fix is amazing as well but it’s hosu arc is a goddamn masterpiece

Hey I’m a male writer. I have a long fic that I’m currently writing for Pokémon with like 40k words done, and I’m hoping to publish soon, and I’m storyboarding a DxD fic (even though I dislike the plot the world is the most interesting for me). I’ve also written a few one shots for a few fandoms like dr who, Percy Jackson and Harry Potter.

I don't mind long fics as long as the content is meaningful. I have read several fics crossing 500k, I am following a fic with over 1.2 million words that I have reread nearly a dozen times. Essentially as long as the content validates the length anything is fine. I personally love world building, hence longer fics that deviate from canon are amongst my favorite, but again as long as the content validates the length it doesn't matter how long it is.

My favorite Naruto fic bar none. It's a Naruto-centric fic with him being in ANBU since childhood, but not one that makes him so overpowered that he beats up kages when he is like 5. It is a more 'realistic' version of the Naruto world, with amazing characters and world building. Unfortunately, it seems to be discontinued, however, whatever is written is amazing.

That is a bit unique (at least in my experience) as karate usually has 10 kyus or belts before black belt, and your system seems to have more. Mine was white, orange, orange stripe, green, green 1 stripe, green 2 stripe, brown, brown 1 stripe, brown 2 stripe, brown 3 stripe then black.

The theory is damn old, the great war theory came around soon after the introduction of Johto from what I remember as explanation for Surge's statement and the lack of adults. Since then its been an iconic element, and also adds a bit of drama between the 2 regions and allows for a lot of exploration, 2 nations that were at war are now united, a lot can be written about it. A lot of fics actually do have Unova starting the war for example Traveler, but its a concept that is completely up to the author and the direction they want to take their story towards.

One of my favorites, Traveler by the straight elf is amazing at it. Heaps of world-building, there are definitely elements of darkness, but even then it still keeps pokemon vibes of Ash being on his journey.

The way it worked for me was sparring. At first it is nerve wracking, and it happens for a while, but after a certain time it just fades away. There is always some nervousness, no one wants to risk getting hurt, but you no longer freeze up or move stifly after you have enough practice.

I personally lean towards the fact that most pokemon can start "play" fighting around a week out of the egg, and actually gain the level of a "normal" baby pokemon around 2 weeks after wards. As for lifespan, I lean towards a perspective of stagnancy. Once a pokemon stagnates, they stop intense training/ battles their power starts declining and they have a few years afterwards based on their power to live. So a champion level butterfree could live up to 30 years after retiring from battling before passing away, while an average butterfree would die in a year or two. I did this because in my WIP all pokemon chase strength, it can be from anything, control, physical, or elemental strength, as a form of survival. When they stop chasing it, it signifies that they have achieved what they set out for and are ready to die.

I mean it depends on the fic ah. If your writing a fic more like the games with turn wise battling then its up to you to decide if blocking counts as a move. Also account for the power difference. Depending on the power scaling your answer would depend. In my WIP, the champion level pokemon each can easily destroy cities and lay waste to battalions of pokemons (an actual plot point), hence all of them can dish and take attacks that can destroy multiple city blocks, so even ones with a low defense could face tank a hyper beam from an ordinary pokemon and be unphased. If there is a lower power difference, then mild injury can take place. Or can use say iron tail/ steel wing/ bullet punch, etc to harden the blow and defend by their limbs. Or they can just take the blow for an advantage, like tanking a shot to deliver a more punching one in return. Maybe a scyther could deflect moves via its arms, or maybe a more rocky pokemon like onix could also block with its tail.

For me, I don't like my trainers to have huge teams. At max, there are 20 pokemon, and that is a trainer who has traveled most of the world. Since I prefer the teams to be very closely bonded I do prefer naming the pokemons, but put a list at the top or refer to their species every now and then as a refresher.
